President and First Lady Obama, on 9-29-13 wrote a personal letter of condolences to the family and widow of LTC Mulder. LTC Mulder who fought and commanded battles in WWII, Korea and finally Viet Nam, he volunteered for over 10 to drive the school bus for special needs children in SLO.

Just to have the President and first Lady honor his service, the SECDEF, Chuck Hagel also sent a personal hand written letter of condolences, as well as many more governmental and Military officials, and Political Officials, thank you all.

Thank you United States Honorable Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel for your king and personal letter to the Mulder Family. In honor of his service to our Nation during three wars.

Lt. Colonel Mulder may you fly with the Angels. What most people may not know about him was even after military retirement he was not finished helping. He spent many years driving special needs children as well, the kids loved him, he was kind, patient and loving to the children.

Merle was my Uncle. He was a great man that gave me comfort and helped me when I needed it most. He will be missed greatly by many. Rest in peace Sir.

Today we will bid you a final farewell LTC Mulder you inspired us and many of our now grown kids with your knowledge and history. We are thankful for your service to America and indebted to your service and sacrifice to all Americans.
