I suppose I'm Charlie almost the longest -- I'm 52 years old, I am his eldest son. I will miss him greatly. I had a complex relationship with him, but in the end, I will miss him more than you know. I hope (against hope) that he's out there somewhere.

The stories Charlie told of his life were, to me, his lessons in living. We shared our attitude of having led a full life and not having to "hang-on" in the end. Charlie's life and good humor are inspiring.

I met Charlie very recently. He would pass by my house on his daily walk on Center St. He told me he was ill and was just so thankful for another day. Then, i stopped seeing him in his bright colored beenie. I'll miss you Charlie. Hope to see you again one day... You were a really sweet man who told me not to take any day for granted. I won't.
