I am so sorry to learn of Bruce's passing. I had looked forward to getting together and possibly meeting the family. He touched so many people's lives. He was a model of how to live life. He always had such an easy sense of humor. He loved to tease me about coming into the dorm room smelling like bacon. If I can ever be a resource to the family, please let me know.
My deepest condolences
My sincerest condolences to the Woolpert family. I only jut heard the tragic news today. As a member of the GSB Class of 77 (the year following Bruce's), I knew him and his boyhood friend Wes Clark (who was in my class). Many an afternoon while cheers rallied over us from the Stanford football games, we three were studying in the GSB library. What a sad loss.
Bruce and I grew up in Watsonville and attended both E.A. Hall and Watsonville High, graduating in 1970. Bruce was a true gentleman and his passing is a great loss for all that knew him. We missed him at the WHS 40th Year Class Reunion, but his generosity was greatly appreciated. God bless you Bruce and I'll see you when I see you.
I was was sad to hear about this. Bruce was a good man, employer. My experiences with him in the office, the field, the quarry, meetings, or bbq's etc. Bruce always greeted everyone with bright eyes & infectious smile. And he knew everyone who worked for him by name. He had an impact on my life the last 8 yrs I was with Pavex & the Quarry.
Bruce in gone in flesh, but not in Spirit & certainly not forgotten!
good men are hard to find. you were a good man. you will be missed.
In Memory of Bruce Woolpert- a Great Guy and a Life Well Lived
As I sit down to collect my thoughts and reminisce about Bruce, I have many fond memories of him. Over the years I knew him in many roles and circumstances: as a boss, a friend, a trusted advisor, a husband, a father and most importantly, a great human being.
Although many of the specifics elude me now, I always enjoyed working with and being with Bruce. As they say, I may not remember exactly what he did in certain circumstances; I may not recall specifically what he said at times; but I do remember how he made me feel. And I always felt like he genuinely cared and was willing to do whatever it took to help out. No problem was too big. The odds were never too long. If there was anything he could do to help – he would.
I will forever think of him as a smart, genuine, considerate, open, hardworking, fun-loving, supportive, trustworthy, loyal friend. Whenever I was with him, he created a great atmosphere of camaraderie, spirit, and fun.
Even though we'll miss him enormously, he'll always be a part of us. Because of him we are all better people and that certainly is one of the best measures of a life well lived. Everyone around him is better for having known him.
In summary, I thought I'd try to capture some feelings in a short poem.
Bruce,
Where you go now, we cannot follow
Our paths diverge and stray
But our bonds to you are strong
So you can help to guide the way.
Now you're a part of all of us
And we toil not on our own
You are always with us
And we are not alone.
God speed
I'm sorry for your loss.May you find comfort in the God of peace.
Bruce,
Rest in peace my friend. Your guidance and presence in my life has changed my life forever. I wish peace for your family and eternal celebration of your life.
My deepest condolences to the Woolpert family, I met Bruce when I was in middle school, my mom Brenda Harmon, worked for Granite Rock at the time. We has always supportive and always asked how I was doing in school. He donated material so that my High School FFA could build a school Farm and awarded me a scholarship when I entered College. For that I have always been grateful. Gods Speed Mr. Woolpert
Such a terrible loss. My deepest condolences to Bruce's family and employees.
