Deepest condolences to Jean and family upon passing of George whom I've known since 1961. He was always serious and funny simultaneously, and was a true privilege to know. Visiting in Japan was a wonderful time together. God bless the memories of a great guy.

Dear family of George,

With deep sadness I heard about George passing away unexpectedly. I'm sending you my deep condolence greetings from Waterloo/
Belgium.

George was one of my direct bosses during his assignment as Finance Director in Europe. George strongly supported my move to Wiesbaden/Germany to help the integration of the new acquisition into the Dow Corning Organization. In addition, he was a key sponsor for my nomination to the INSEAD/France Management program, for which I'm still very thankful today. George was not just an excellent manager, but also a nice individual to which you could come with any issue regardless whether of private or professional nature.
Last summer I was visiting Santa Fee. Too bad that I didn't know that he and his family lived down there. It would have been great meeting George again.
No doubt, I will keep George in good memory for the rest of my life!
My best wishes to all his family members!!

I have known George Callaghan since 1960 when we met as freshman at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. First impressions of a warm, funny and very smart guy persist to this day. God has never put a better person on this earth than George Callaghan, well, maybe once. Our last reunion in Santa Fe with George and Jeanie was one of the best events of our life as George and Jean entertained the group with stories and challenged our memories, and made sure we were overfed and never without wine. Rest well, good friend, you made a real and positive difference in this world for which we are all the richer. Until we meet again! Doug and Jeanie

The CIR Non-Fiction Book Club - just one of the groups Gerorge's participation enhanced - will feel the loss of his grace and intellect. It is the joy and sorrow of our life on earth to know and lose a man like George.

Jean, I am so sorry to hear about George's passing. I so enjoyed our visits when you would come in to visit when you had time on your trips back to Midland. You both had great stories about your time overseas. He was such an interesting person to talk with about your experiences. May God bless you all.

George was a valued friend and great neighbor. He well informed, a fine contributor to many groups, had a real sense of humor and always a good thinker. We are deeply saddened by his passing and have all sympathy for Jean and his family.
