I grew up spending weeks and weeks at the club in Santa Fe while young playing tennis with Adriene being my doubles partner. Wonderful man and family - now living in San Antonio got to see Dr. Mechem a couple years ago in Austin. May GOD be with your family and my prayers go out to all
My heart goes out to Dr. Mechem's family, he always spoke of his love for his children and family. He was my doctor/friend for 8-1/2 years and I really don't think I would have survived everything I went through without him. He will definitely be missed.
Dr. Mechem was our therapist and friend. He really helped our relationship in ways no one else could. I will always remember his infectious laugh and smile. He had such a unique way of looking at things, as well as, insights that only someone with his vast years of experience could offer. In our last meeting, he was so excited to show us the dust cover for his new book. I really hope I see it on Amazon soon, as I know how much he lit up when talking about it. I'm really going to miss him.
I am saddened to learn of Dick's passing. He was a great man, and I will cherish the many memories of my summers spent working at the club. All my love to the family.
We are sorry for your loss and you all are in our prayers. He was a good, caring man and we will miss him.
We are sorry about your loss. Your family is in our prayers.
Keith, Sandra, Will, and Jennifer Weinheimer
We will miss Dr. Mechem's smile and friendship over the years. Sympathy to the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I am sorry to know of Dick's passing. He and his family were the pillars of the Santa Fe tennis community for many years. Thanks for all you did Dick. He will be remembered. My condolences to all his family and friends.
Dick and I go pretty far back in our antecedents: we both graduated from the same Roosevelt Junior High in Topeka and had the same tennis coach in Mr. Mellenbruch although Dick was a few years ahead of me. Then we connected in Santa Fe in 1972 and remained friends and competitors for years. I last visited him a few years ago in Fredricksburg. I am truly sad to learn about his passing. All the best to his family. Love and peace to them all.
