There are few in this world about whom can be said "I have never heard an unkind word pass his lips." Leonard Helman was such a man.
I, as many of could surely do, tell countless stories of our times together, his laughter, his love of life, his teaching, his intellect, his faith. He first came to Santa Fe to lead a small congregation but his message of love and peace enriched all our lives.
Shalom

Such a special person. So bright, in every respect. Leonard was an example of how to do the right thing in life. How to live, how to love. How to give.
Unforgetable.

Leonard was a dear man, a wonderful Rabbi and a fabulous dancer. He was also a shark as a bridge player. The sharpness of mind required for bridge served him well from the pulpit and in his legal career. He championed people who couldn't stand for themselves. He loved being around young people and bright minds and it kept him youthful to the end. We will miss his humor and strength. Sim Shalom!
