Gene...I will surely miss seeing your smiling face for a long time to come...at the library, the NYS Military Museum, on the street, at polling places where I have worked. And in the newspapers telling about all of the things you've done for Veterans and the Community..What a guy! I am so happy to have known you...the first day I met you at tne NYS Military Museum you showed me all of your tatoos from the Navy, when you found out that I was also in the Navy (WAVES) at one time...my heart goes out to your vey nice family at this time of loss.XOXOXO

Gene was a fine man and friend of my family for three generations. I worked with him on many Veteran related projects and his opinion was ALWAYS the correct one. He truly reflected the finest traditions of the U.S. Navy and service to the America he loved.

I knew Gene through his work with the Saratoga County Deceased Veterans and during his time as Dir. of Real Property. After a Veterans ceremony at the Sara. Co. railway station, he spent over an hour talking to me about trains, another one of his loves of life. We kept in touch about what was happening with veterans after he left the County due to his health and he said "make sure you put everything in writing that you're doing so people know" and we did that for you Gene. Everyone knows what Gene did for Veterans and he will always be remembered for that. If he was your friend, I'm sure you feel as blessed as I do in having known him. May he rest in peace.

Gene was a great friend who could be counted on when you needed information and support. He shared his professional skills with the school district during out search for property to site a new bus facility. His reputation was a major force in the communities support for the building project that we enjoy to this day. Gene will be missed by all. Our prayers are with Barb and the family.
