Gerald Mattox Obituary

Gerald Quincey "Jerry" Mattox - SAVANNAH - Gerald Quincey Mattox, 57, of Savannah, GA passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 as the result of surgical complications. Mr. Mattox was born on March 16, 1954 in Virginia, and was a loving, hardworking man who loved to joke around. He was a wonderful father and husband. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Allen Mattox; brother Thomas Wayne Mason and special grandmother Willie Kate Keesee. He is survived by his wife, Karen Mattox of Savannah; children Eric and Sherill Mattox of Savannah and Crystal Coles of Virginia; mother Bobbie Anthony of Gretna, VA; sisters Pam Bowling of Lynch Station, VA, Anita Rowland and husband Charlie of Hurt, VA, Vicky Gregory and husband Willie of Gretna, VA, Angela Sue Elliot of Hurt, VA, and Angie Hines and husband Ronald of Gretna, VA; father and mother-in-laws Ronnie and Susan McLamb; numerous special nieces and nephews; and good friends Tony, Betty, and Dean Hines of Gretna, VA, Curtis and Scott Allen and family of GA, and Roberson, Boatrighter and Willett families, Ed Gassney and son, and all friends at Greg's Gas Staion. Memorial services will be announced by the family at a later date. Jerry, It is almost the one year mark of you going to be with the Lord. Dec. 19 ,2012 I always thought you would be here forever. You was always the strong tough one that could get all the problems solved. I know you are in a better place but I sure do miss you!! RIP Jerry!

jerry, i never in a million yrs ever thought i would be signing your guest book page. you were just always one that i thought would be here forever. you were one of the greatest men i have ever known and you had a heart of gold.i already miss your phone calls jerry.i just wish you could call and as you like to say "rattle my cage" with your sence of humor. you were definatly one of a kind. we are gonna miss you more than you would ever know. we love you jerry. i know you will be standing at the pearly gates with that look only you could give probly saying "what in the heck took yall so long" followed up by a "what did you do shann? get lost?" until we meet again my friend ill hold on tight to all the good memories i have of good ole jerry.
