Sammy, so many people will miss you but thankfully we have wonderful memories of you and your beautiful photographs will live forever.

I have several memories of him from family gatherings at my grandmother's (Sue Moore) home. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. With deepest sympathy,Melody Bagwell Faulkenberry

I don't think there will ever be a person as kind as Sammy. While caring for my Gran aka Polly Brooks, he stopped by every day to visit with her.

Sambo, Kaye and I will never forget you. That would be impossible. I do wish that I would have stopped by Sammy and Cats more often. I enjoyed trading stories with you about Newton's, Barbee's Pavilion, Kinsey's, the JFK family play at IOH school in 1962 that we were in, your photography, Mr. Blissett, Cookie, Nannie, Luke, Shorty, Mike, and of course, Johnny and Howard.
You and Howard were Deke and Bug. I think Harriett was responsible for that.
Every chance I get, I point out the little house on Ferguson that you and Howard grew up in.
Sambo, I've been blessed with the best friends anyone could have. I never knew a better person than you. We will all miss you as long as we live, but there is no way to fill the void, because there is no one like you. No one to even remind us of you. I'd like to think that you were one of God's treasured gems.... a masterpiece.
Greg/Kaye Burch
