Delmas was a fun filled, loving relative that I have extremely fond memories of since I was 3 years old. Delmas was older than I was, but he always spent quality time with me when we went to the farm to visit them or met them at our grandparents. Delmas always had a smile on his face.
We both worked and traveled in several states for years. Delmas and I retired a few years ago and rekindled our relationaship.
I remember when his Mother died, and I drove over to Glennville to visit at the funeral home. It was dark, but Delmas was standing on the porch and recognized me when I was two blocks away. His face lit up and he had a big smile.
Delmas said, "Mama is gone, her suffering is over, and she has gone on to a better place." And so now, has Delmas, "gone on to a better place."
I loved my cousin Delmas, and I will miss him, but I know that he is reunited with our beloved family members. Our love and prayers to his family. We will miss him.
