Margaret Schultz Obituary

Margaret (Peggy) Bellinger Johnson Schultz passed away at her home in Bluffton, SC, on the Maye River, surrounded by her loving family on October 9, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Peggy was born in Ridgeland, SC on December 10, 1938 to Nonie Pinckney Colonna Johnson and the late John B. Johnson and was a resident of both Atlanta, GA and Bluffton, SC.

Peggy was a loving devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She was a member of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta, GA and Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC.

Peggy traveled extensively nationally and internationally with her husband. She was an exceptional care taker to her friends, family and loved ones. She was affectionately known as 'Cotton' by her grandchildren who she adored. Her favorite activities were shopping and in her earlier years you would see her around Bluffton on her pink bike always looking fashionable. She was an avid animal lover, especially her beloved miniature schnauzer, Queen.

Peggy is survived by her husband, J. Carl Schultz Jr. of Savannah, GA; her mother, Nonie Pinckney Colonna Johnson of Bluffton, SC; her son, J. Carlus Schultz III of Bluffton, her daughters, Druella Helmly Schultz and Angela Schultz-Wyman of Bluffton; two sisters, Polly Ann Colonna Yeager (Jimmy) of Fripp Island, SC and Sandra Colonna Jepperson (Niels) of North Franklin, CT; her grandchildren, Ella Porcher Wyman, Ivy Adele Wyman, Emma Margaret Wyman and Edward Hampton Wyman Jr. She was predeceased by her step father, Sam Colonna.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Dr., Bluffton, SC with burial to follow at Pinckney Family Cemetery, Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Pinckney Family Cemetery or Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
