David Hudson Obituary

Mr. David G. Hudson, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2017 at his home.

David was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Samuel and Mary Hudson. David lived in many places including Columbus, Athens, Richmond Hill and Savannah, Georgia as well as Smith Station, Alabama. He worked for Blue Cross of South Carolina for many years before moving to Savannah to manage the family owned business, C&S Upholstery. David retired from C&S Upholstery after suffering a stroke.

David attended the University of Georgia and Columbus College receiving a Master's Degree in Music Education. While he was at the University of Georgia, David was the lead trumpet player in the Georgia Red Coats marching band. While growing up in Columbus he played in the Key Notes Band with his father and brothers.

David's first love was Jesus and his second was music. He played several instruments. The piano and trumpet were his favorites. If you ever heard him sing or play it would bring a smile to your lips. He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, Cascade Hills Church in Columbus, GA, Calvary Baptist Church in Savannah and First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, GA. He was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Mary B. Hudson; father, Samuel Hudson; and second wife, Janet Hogg Hudson.
