Dear Dolores and family,
Dad called me today and told me of Reed's passing. He has updated us about Reed over the past few months.
When we were kids we always thought you guys were the coolest and you were. I'll never forgot working for Reed at The Salute to the States building for the Phila. Bicentennial 41 years ago.
Our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Dolores,
Robyn and I were so sorry to learn of Reed's passingplease accept our deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of working with Reed at Shenandoah National Park. I led the Exotic Vegetation crew and we were loaned out to Reed to rid the Hoover Rapidan Camp of invasive weeds. Later I worked directly for Reed doing plantings to help restore the Camp to its historic landscaping at the time of the Hoovers. And, on the Interpretive staff I gave tours of both the Massanutten Lodge and the Hoover Cabin. Reed did an absolutely amazing job of restoring those historic landmarks. Robyn and I enjoyed our lunches, bike rides, and nature outings with you and Reed over recent years. And we agree with Julena, Reed had a great sense of humor. All our best to you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Reed's passing. I worked with him at Shenandoah in the early-mid 2000s and always had good conversations with him. I especially appreciated his funny sidebar comments at meetings and other gatherings as well! I know he will be missed by many. He did great things for the NPS, thank you for supporting his career with us. Take good care of yourselves during this difficult time.

Delores:

From our communications of late and years gone by you know how much Reed meant to me personally. I feel a hollowness in heart that simply cannot be replaced or filled. I so cherish the blessings of my time with Reed and his both his friendship and mentorship since we first met. He will be dearly missed. My deepest thoughts and prayers to you and the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Although your grief may seem unbearable, know that God wants to comfort you. Pour out your heart to him in prayer and experience the peace that only he can give. Jeremiah 29:11

So sad to read about Reed's passing. We only knew Reed a short time when our paths crossed in Savannah. Our only contact has been Facebook since 2009, and I will miss his wonderful outlook and comments on so many things. Always considered him a good friend and always looked forward to seeing Reed again. We will miss you.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)
