My condolences to the Pugliese family. I knew Al through his son having served with him in the Army. I remember a very kind and strong man who enjoyed taking us places when on leave. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
To all of the Pugliese Family. I am late hearing about my friend. He always brought a smile to my face and left me wanting and striving to be a better person. All my love to all of you.
I know Al was well loved and respected. He had a great character and a big heart. My deepest sympathy
"Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
(Isaiah 40:1, 6-8)
"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(1 Corinthians 15:51-57)
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
Pop, from the day I met you, you were always loved by me. Remember when you used to stay with us? You would cook and I would bake. I'll never forget the special times we shared together. I miss "kissing your face off" and can't wait to see you again in heaven. Remember, you'll always be my Pop. Love, your daughter-in-law, Caroline.
May our Lord's promise of eternal life comfort you during this time of sorrow.

Now he's at home with his heavenly father and leaves for his children and grandchildren a legacy of love and deep devotion to them and their mother. *A Blessing*

Some of my favorite memories are at the LA Marathons that he loved to run so much. When I was young I would look forward to every march because I knew that was the time I got to be with my grandfather, just me my dad and my brother. Pop would take us to the convention center where he would sign up and take us around the arena to get free stuff. He was one of those people that wherever he went he was liked by all. I always wanted to be around him because I felt proud to be his grandson and still to this day I am proud to say that I carry his name. I hope that I still make you proud Pop and that you're looking down from heaven and smiling down on me. Death is never easy but it's just a transition and I believe that I will see you again and that's the only thing that keeps me going some days. It's always hard to lose someone who was part of your life, but there comes a point when you have to let them go and realize that God has brought them home to be in His arms. That heaven needs him just a bit more then earth, but it will never be easy. I will forever miss him, REST IN PEACE POP ?
My fondest memories of Pop were always when he came to visit us at our apartment in California; He would always stay for one or two nights and every morning my brother and I would get a big surprise. At around seven in the morning Pop would come into our room, lightly try to roll us out of bed and tell us: "Hey boys let's go get donuts before your father wakes up." Half awake, half asleep my brother and I were full of excitement to sneak out the front door and drive with Pop to the donut store. When we returned home our Dad would be sitting at the kitchen table wondering where we went and Pop would always tell him that the boys helped me pick out donuts for breakfast. With the family all together around the kitchen table we would enjoy the donuts we bought with Pop and, whatever the conversation, it was just nice to be together. My brother and I will never forget those special memories Pop, and now that God has called you home to be with Him I know you will always be watching us from the Gates of Heaven, looking down with love, and I hope that you will be smiling with pride to see the lives that your grandkids are living. My brother and I carry the Pugliese line within our blood and I promise Pop that we will make you proud and carry on the family line with love, pride, and honor. When our kids are old enough we will tell them about the man that is "Pop" and how many wonderful things you accomplished in your life and how many special memories we shared. I love you Pop, May the Lord of Heaven and Earth keep you safe in His care until we see each other again and are able to embrace each other once more.
Al was great man and he will be
greatly missed by all, our prayers go out to the family

Hey Al, hows by you, if you need a tuneup I'm bringin my tools.
Al was a great inspiration, mentor, and example to me at Teledyne. Now that I am near the end of my aerospace career and ready to begin a new phase, what better model than Al Pugliese who made the most of every year. My he rest in peace in the Kingdom of God.
Hard to believe that Al was even 89 - what an amazing person - love to all the relatives
The "Projects" in Philadelphia just after WWII. Where it all began for you and me. We've come a long way since then my friend. So many words left unspoken. So much pain and heartache. So much doubt and fear. But, through it all, deep down, I always knew you loved me. And, you must know, I always loved and respected you. You were always there in a crisis, always willing to give advice. And although I often didn't listen, I knew you meant the best for me. Well, I'm listening now Dad. Listening to all the memories of you and me together, especially at the end. No more words left unspoken, no more pain and heartache, no more doubt and fear. It was an honor to know you in life. It was an honor to take care of you in death. It's an honor to carry out your will. It's an honor to carry on you name. God bless you my friend. May God grant you eternal peace.
Your loving son,
