I remember Mr Brower from the two years that I attended Center Jr. High. What a great teacher and mentor. After I graduated he kept in contact through-out my high school years and was always showing up at games and practice. After graduating from high school and college and leaving the area to join the military. Years later I was picking up my daughter from day care at the local church in Covina and Mr Brower was picking up I'm not sure who he was picking up, I do remember Mr. Subject was with him. Mr Brower recognized me and started talking like I hadn't been away for years. The thing I remember most of Mr. Brower is how special he made you feel and he was could always bring out the best in you. The World has lost a great man, It was honor and wanted to say thank you you made life a little bit easier growing up.
Our whole family have been blessed to have the Brower "team" in our lives decades ago...to the point they might not remember us...however - thank you both for your service to thousands of children throughout the years! God be with you during this time of loss. The Elvidge Family.
What a great man of principle. He will be missed. My prayers for Mrs. Brower and family.
The world has lost a Fine man and a Great Teacher. Mr Brower had an impact on every life that came through Center Jr High. May he rest in peace. You will always live in our hearts and prayers.
I will always be thankful for, and full of respect for my Center School P.E. teacher, Mr. Brower. He taught me from '69 to '71. He was also tough, but very fair, as well as encouraging to me. I'm also thankful for his wife, Mrs. Brower, my first grade teacher at Valleydale. Love the both of you.
I remember Mr. Brower from Center Junior High, good guy, R.I.P.
I am saddened to hear of Mr. Brower's passing. Not only was he one of my teacher's at Center Jr. High, but his wife Mrs. Brower was my first grade teacher at Valleydale Elementary. My thoughts are with her and her family at this moment in their life.
I remember him well from the 7th grade, he was a nice guy
I remember Mr. Brower from my years at Center Intermediate in the very early 80's. Such a wonderful family of Educators. I was in Mrs. Borwer's Kindergarten and First Grade classes at Valleydale Elementary. So many good memories. So sorry to hear of his passing. May you find comfort knowing he is at peace and with the Lord.

Yes remember him well, great teacher in my Junior Hight days at Center.
Mr Brower as I knew him was always kind, happy and helpful to all us kids at school. He was a great Physcial Education teacher and I remember him well. I wish his family my condolences. I am so glad he was a Christian so I can see him again.
I will miss Mel so much. He had such an impact on each person he knew. He was a good & patient Bible Study teacher. loyal friend, and ready to help in any way. When when I look at my sprinkling system, I remember Mel putting it in because my husband was ill and wasn't able to do it. His faith and quiet humor is an inspiration to all. Mel and Charlene blessed us all.
Charlene and family....our love to you..we know Mel is with Jesus and we rejoice in that. We also know that caring for someone for so many years is difficult and exhausting - may the Lord comfort you and give you rest. We love you all - it's been SO LONG since we've seen you. Wish we could be there to bring you a meal or just hang out. You all mean so much to us. Steve and Marla
To Charlene & Family ~ What a pleasure it was to know Mel. He was a very kind and generous man. Always willing to be of help whenever he could. He loved the Lord & was always sharing scripture. He loved to tell jokes and always had a smile and a kind word for you. Speaking of joking, it was funny this one Sunday when he was going to give a testimony and he had just found out he had Parkinson's, so he brought a bucket and said that was his washing machine & his hands were the agitater [because he shook so much] and thats how he could wash his clothes!! I probably haven't said this correctly, but I'm sure you get the drift of what he meant! He will be missed not only by you, but he will be missed by the many friends he made throughout his life's journey ~ but now he is on a much greater Journey now with his Lord. We are so "Glad To Have Had Him In Our Dash". Our Sympathy, along with God's Continued Blessings & Our Love, Prayers. Jim & Mary Jane Rinker ~~
I knew Mel as Mr. Brower or Coach as he was my 7th Grade science teacher and my home room teacher. All my friends said I was lucky to have him for 2 classes and they were right. He was a great man who mentored me and coached me to fulfill my potential. He took a personal interest in his students and wanted them to do well in school and in life. Even after we left middle school we would occasionally see Coach Brower on his bike watching our high school Football practice. He didn't think we saw him checking up on "his guys" but we knew and it made me smile to know he cared. As a track coach he taught me to set a goal and then work to achieve it. But mostly he taught me life lessons. Exercise regularly. Don't smoke. Do well in school. Obey your parents. Hang around good kids. Be proud of who you are. As an adult he taught me about handling adversity. When he told me he had Parkinson's I felt sad for him. He sensed this on the phone and said "You might be thinking why me. But I say why not me? I've had a great life and I can handle this" and went on describing his latest wood working project. Mel loved his family very much and would tell me about them. I feel like I know them although we never met. To them, thank you for sharing this wonderful man with us. To Mel, thanks for being my coach.
Dear Charlene and family: I did not know Mel well but always had the most positive feelings from him in our few meetings. May his kindly spirit comfort you always.
What a life Mel has lived, with God and Charlene by his side. We will miss him dearly.
