Robert M. Zangler, III
84, of Upland, California peacefully passed away on September 20, 2012 at home with his daughter, Jeanne at his side. He was born Jan. 23, 1928 to Robert M. Zangler, Jr. and Grace Cokefair Zangler in Yonkers, NY.
He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II. Graduated in 1950 from Nichols College. Bob moved his family to Ontario, Ca, in 1962 and lived in Upland for the past 42 years. He was an Area Sales Mgr. for Conwed Corp. for 25 years, retiring in 1989.
Bob was a Life Member of Knights of Columbus, an Assistant Sacristan/Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony Church, Volunteered at His Hands Ministry and OPARC.
Bob loved golf. He achieved a well earned Hole-In-One on 2/3/99 at hole #16 at Upland Hills CC. Bob enjoyed traveling, reading, BBQing, poker with the Bullfarkles and restoring antique trunks.
He is survived by daughters, Jeanne Pairman and Eileen Dix; son, John Zangler, a sister Elizabeth LaFreniere; grandchildren Laura, Lianne, Lindsey-Joy, Ryan, Kassie, Gregg and Jeff; and 2 great grandchildren Alex and Madisyn.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 58 years, Jackie Zangler and his daughter Linda.
Services will be held Oct. 11, 2012, 10:30 a.m, St. Anthony Catholic Church, Upland. October 12, 2012, 12:01 p.m.-Navy Honors and Inurnment, Riverside Natl. Cemetery, Riverside.

Bob was full of love, care and patience. A family man, a friend and a giver of his time to the community. My prayers are with his family and friends. We will miss you Bob.

We remember Bob so well from meeting him and Jackie when they visited the UK many years ago They were a lovely, kind and thoughtful couple and our thoughts are with Jeanne and all the family at this sad time.

As mentioned in my recent letter to Bob, he was an alert & very helpful friend when trouble threatened. As he did with friends, he stood steadfast with his family!
