Robert Adams Obituary
"Our worst fears were confirmed today: our beloved Robert will not be coming home to us," San Bernardino County Human Services spokeswoman C.L. Lopez wrote in a press release on behalf of the Adams family.
The family is not interested in speaking with the press, she earlier wrote on Facebook. "He was a loving son, brother, husband and daddy to Savannah."
Adams' wife Summer is the Chief Learning Officer for the Department of Human Services.
"Robert and Summer loved each other since they were teenagers," Lopez wrote. "Robert always wanted to be a father and for the past 20 months, he was a devoted father to Savannah and cherished every moment with her. He and Summer and Savannah were inseparable. They were planning Savannah's first trip to Disneyland next week."
Adams, 40, loved his job as an environmental health specialist, according to Lopez. According to online records, he had worked for the county's Department of Health since at least 2011.
"We ask that you remember those taken from us not for how they died, but for how they lived," Lopez concluded. "Our prayers are with all who are affected by this, especially the loved ones left behind.
The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office confirmed Adams' death Thursday afternoon.
A GoFundMe crowdsourcing page has been set up to "help with the needs of Summer and Savannah in the following days, weeks and months of life without their cherished Robert."
"Throughout the day and night of December 2nd, we prayed, hoped, and pleaded with God to somehow spare the life of the remarkable Robert Adams," the page, who has apparently been set up by parenting group friends of Summer, reads in part. "All day we waited for news that he was safely coming home to his beautiful wife Summer and his absolutely precious daughter, Savannah. It is now confirmed this will not be happening."
As of Thursday afternoon, 10 hours after the page had been set up, more than $4,000 had been raised by supporters and well-wishers.
"We give and we let her and Savannah know that as difficult as it will be, they will never walk alone," the page concludes.

Dear Summer
Thinking of you and Savanah early this morning watching an astroid shower. It reminded me how life is beautiful, amazing and all too brief. Robert was certainly a bright light that departed far too early. His energy will live on through you and his precious daughter.

When Robert sat in my classroom I knew we would have a lively class session. He always had a smile and was eager to share his experiences with other students. We all learned from his discussions. What a loss for so many. May all his friends and family find peace, love, and happiness.

I did not know Robert, but hearing about the loss of life is something that we all have to face and it can be very painful, especially when taken away so tragic and sudden. I keep you in my prays.
