Betty and I have been friends since an early age, I actually spent more time at the Boord household than my own as a child. Her grandfather was our Dr. And her grandmother and parents were simply the best . Betty was a true friend always there but never judged. She was the best hostess, never was there an empty glass at the table . She was not a talker but would always listen to my 78 rpm deliver of all that was wrong in my world. She used her skills as a nurse to take care of friends and family.
When I returned home to the "coal regions" , one of my stops was always the Boord household, my trip was never complete without a visit to my extended family .
I will miss my lifelong friend, so many people will miss her,I worry about Aggie but I know the Nursing Home loves her and will take good care of her in Betty's absence.
I loved the Boord family growing up in Port, they were so happy and cared so much about each other. Always welcoming and full of laughter, their door was never closed.
You were a great friend especially when I needed a friend .

Betty, I will always remember your smile when you missed a putt, your words "the sand is your friend", and your dance after your drive. Drinking red wine. Many memories I will treasure forever. Miss you and Love you.
