William H. Bullock, 78, Blackbird, Delaware passed March 7, 2018. He was born September 15, 1939 in Dover, son of William L. and Freda H. Bullock. Bill grew up in Smyrna and graduated from Smyrna High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in January 1958 and served for 4 ½ years. He married Betty Burris on June 22, 1960. They were married 57 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, his daughter, Audrey M. Erschen (William), and son, William (Billy) Bullock (Rhonda). His grandchildren are Jacob Erschen, Angelic Rideout, and Cameron Bullock.
After leaving the service, he worked at Thiokol Chemical on Apollo 11, self-employed for a while, then he worked at Globe Union, and retired from Clement's Supply. He also taught heating and air conditioning at PolyTech Adult Education. Most recently, he was a House of Representatives Attaché. He was active in the Blackbird Community Center, the Blackbird Democrats, the Eleventh District Democrats, and Duck's Unlimited. He was a Cub Scout Leader, and a 4-H Leader.
Bill's hobbies were woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. He traveled throughout the United States, and toured Europe. He enjoyed gardening, and was always willing to help neighbors and friends.
Friends may visit on Monday, March 12, 2018 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., at Matthews –Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce Street, Smyrna, Delaware. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11 a.m., at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home.
