Poo-I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out today about Elmer's passing or I would have attended services. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Uncle Sonny was a kind, loving man. I always remember as a kid being welcomed to the Dahl home during our family picnics. I was always thrilled to look at and sometimes get a ride in his antique cars. Last time I saw him was in DC for the honor flight. We were all so happy to see him -- his smiling happy face coming all the way from St Cloud. How lucky we were to be there to honor his service to our country. He will be missed by all.
Uncle Sonny will be missed. I remember when he visited us in Yokohama, Japan when he was on R&R from the Korean War--a great memory of a young man serving our country.
I really enjoyed seeing him in Washington DC last year--his smile and great personality made the day!!! Wish we could be with you during this very sad time.

Bea and family: I heard about Elmer through Dots the other day. I'm so sorry to hear he is gone. My part in his life was very small, but I'll always remember him and all of you. I was your shy neighbor and babysitter for many summers and other times when you needed me. I was around when Jim and Jeannie were small and Jay just born. Jody came later so I didn't get to know her. I remember Jim always being the straight A kid and Jeannie was my little model while doing hairstyles on her. She had long beautiful hair. I knew you Jay when you were just an infant and I have always loved new babies so I was constantly checking on you while you slept to see if I might be lucky enough to have you wake up and I could hold you. You all were like my second family and I loved you all so much (and still do). Those were good times in my life for sure. Bea, you and Elmer were wonderful role models for me for sure. You and Elmer, were also the young "cute" couple in the neighborhood. You emulated the perfect family. I remember Elmer one Halloween dressed like a mummy and out about the kids in the neighborhood - spooking us all. You Bea, in the front entry dressed up too and handing out candy. Do you remember how Dale and I would put out your Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve while you were gone to church? Filled half your livingroom! We were jealous! My family will never forget Elmer driving my mom and dad on their 40th wedding anniversary in the same car they had early in their lives. The green and black Model-T, which Elmer refurbished and Bea had customized the inside. That was so special to them and all our family. As neighbors, you guys were the best and always very helpful to my mom and dad as they got older. You were always there for all of us. Jeannie, hi. I hear you live in Kentucky now and I hope life has been kind to you. Jim, I've seen you a few times along the years and your beautiful wife and family. It meant the world to me to have you attend Dale's memorial. Your presence really touched my heart. So in ending, I want to wish you all my deepest sympathy and lots of hugs. Keep strong, he is at peace now.
Rest in peace Elmer. You were one great guy to me and to my family. You will be missed.

Poo, Sorry to hear about Elmer. I hope you are doing well.
Uncle Sonny will truly be missed. I last saw him in DC for his Honor Flight and so glad that we all got together. He was happy, smiling and looking great. It's a wonderful memory to have of him --- smiling!
Elmer's kind heart, warm smile, and great sense of humor will certainly be missed at family gatherings. When Colt drives the "Jimmy" he now has an angel sitting along side him for the ride.
Dear Jean, Poo & Family, May you find some comfort in knowing many are praying for you during this difficult time. Love and Prayers!
SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND, POO. I PLAYED SOFTBALL WITH YOU FOR A FEW YEARS BACK IN THE 60'S, I WAS ONE OF THE YOUNG GIRLS. MARY ANN (MAILE) FRUTH
Sonny was truly a wonderful and gentle man. He was so kind and caring. And quite handsome. He put up a valiant fight and will be missed.
Your smile, love for the kids on our car runs, your jokes and wit will be missed!
