Dr. Dahlquist was my Dr. from 1971 until his retirement. He delivered my three children. He saw my family and me through many ups and downs. He was a gentle, caring Dr. with a good sense of humor. I knew he loved his wife and family, by the way he would mention them in conversation. Thank you, Dahlquist family, for sharing this wonderful man with us.

My thoughts and prayers go out the family. Dr. Dahlquist brought me into the world in 1977 and was my Dr. into my teens. He was a great Dr. and my Mom had him for over 35 years. I can still picture him plain as day with his stethoscope around his neck. Stay strong! He will never be forgotten :)

Dear Harriet and Family: As I read through these lovely tributes to LaRue, I am grateful that his love for all of God's children was his hallmark. My family knew the Dahlquist family in Laurel, Nebraska and I had the privilege of attending Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota with both of you. Our friendship has been a blessing these many years and over the miles. Please know that we are thanking God for the ministry of healing you have both showered on His children. May the Peace of God and the God of Peace be with you today and everyday.

It was a great pleasure working with Dr. Dahlquist these many years. He was a great role model and truly a mentor to many of us at SCMG. I will never forget the kindness and time he took with me when I first started at the medical group. He will be missed.

Dr. Dahlquist was my doctor from 1973 until his retirement. They do not make doctors like Dr. D anymore! He always took the time to answer questions and ask about my Mom after she had cancer and didn't go to the Medical Group anymore. He called our house long after clinic hours were over when I had the Chicken Pox and was 9 weeks pregnant. He was also a wonderful Grandpa--I often saw him at school events in Foley that his grandkids were involved in. He will be missed my many. My sympathy to his entire family.

I met Dr. Dahlquist working at the Pipestone Hospital when I was 17 years old. One night the doctors were at the hospital for a meeting, when I found out my uncle had just died. He was the only one who stopped to find out what was wrong and console me. That compassion epitomized his life. 45 years later we ended up attending the same church in St Cloud, and we had the privilege of calling him our friend. A wonderful man, beloved by all who knew him! Harriet, we will take care of you...we love you!

Blessed is the man who walks with the Lord. And that he did no matter where he was or who he was with, he related to them with the compassion of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His shining example of a Christian who walked with the Lord every moment of his day. And he frequently shared his faith with those who very sick or dying. He was a Christian first, a loving husband, and a very patient father to his own children and grandchildren, but also to those children of friends and family. His gentle, kind, compassionate personality and never ending smile will be greatly missed. Just the touch of his hand brought peace and calm into situations of life that were full of trials and tribulations. Harriet, you were a big part of his life and helped to mold him into the wonderful man he was to all people. Thank you for sharing him with so many people through his medical practice. I am sorry that the retirements years were few, but we know they were precious to the two of you. Our hearts go out to you during this time of loss. May what you had as a couple continue to be passed on through you Harriet. We love you and pray God's peace be with you.

Harriet and Family:
Words cannot describe the respect and gratitude I feel for Dr. Dahlquist. and how saddened we are to hear of his passing. What an amazing man and compassionate physician. For over 30 years he was our family physician, delivering two of our three daughters. Our middle daughter born December 30, 1988 was Dr. D's very last delivery as he had decided to no longer deliver babies after January 1, 1989, we cherish that special memory. I also had the privilege of working with Dr. Dahlquist at the clinic for over 15 years. He had a way of making everyone feel important and special and if there was someone you needed to talk to, he was there to listen. Our prayers and condolences are with the entire Dahlquist family at this time of loss.
