I feel fortunate indeed to have met Mary only a few short years ago. After I retired, hers was the very first OLLI class I attended and I still remember it as the one against which all of the others I have taken are compared. I was so impressed by the research, planning, organization and humor she brought to her class on women in early American history. Then a few short months later, I found that both she and Winnie were members of a book club that I decided to join. So I have been lucky enough to share their humor, kindness and historical insights there as well. And I have taken additional OLLI classes from both Mary and Winnie and they were terrific as well.

I love the picture that has been selected for this memorial because it captures Mary's sweet smile, with just the touch of Irish humor that always seemed to be hiding in the corners of her personality.

My sincere condolences to Winnie and the other members of Mary's family during this sad time.

I was blessed to know Mary for many years as a good friend, colleague, and fellow Dean. Mary was an academic leader with high integrity, keen wisdom, and generosity of spirit. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and a great kindness. She taught me some important lessons in life.

The Quinlivans were neighbors of ours in the North end of St. Cloud. We shared many good childhood memories...and each time we met in Arden Hills or church an immediate flashback occured...She touched so many lives with her intellect and Irish humor and will be missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her.

were her true friend and
companion. May God cover you

I am so distraught at Mary's passing . I so enjoyed her thought provoking and insightful comments at our book club meetings. She is sorely missed. I extend my sincere sympathy to her family and Mary's special friend, Winnie.
