"Mick" O'Hara, age 63 of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at home surrounded by family seven months after his cancer diagnosis. Reverend LeRoy Scheierl will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Mick was born January 25, 1951 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Sid and Margaret (O'Leary) O'Hara. He married Mary Ann Schill on September 30, 1972 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Mick worked as a salesman for St. Cloud Jobbing before entering into business with his brother, Tim in 1978. He was part owner of O'Hara Brothers Pub until 1991. For the past 23 years he was a salesman at Granite City Jobbing while also enjoying part-time jobs at the MAC and St. Cloud Times. Mick was a member of St. Paul's Parish and Sports Incorporated.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather always enjoying time with family. Mick had a passion for baseball with great memories of Twins games, the boys' games and especially enjoyed his days coaching. Mick was a humble man who was grateful for the small pleasures in life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary "Pixie"; sons, Kelly (Jessie) of St. Cloud, Ryan (Jaime) of St. Cloud, Phil (Jenny) of Albertville; eight grandchildren, Carly, Blake, Kate, Melanie, Maggie, Maycee, Erynn and Jakob; sister, Patricia (Jerry) Boerboom of Alexandria; brothers, Denny of Superior, Wisconsin, Tim, Chip (Vickie) and Terry (Chris) all of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mick's family conveys their gratitude to all those who cared for Mick during his illness.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mick. I worked at Cecil's for his father, Sidney from 1960-61 while a student at St Cloud State. I was called into the military and that ended my time in St Cloud. Mick was a young boy and he worked like a man for his father in those days.In 1986 I visited the new establishment and Mick gave me a jacket that I wore proudly until it was stolen from my boat in Hawaii. The entire O'Hara family were the finest people in the world. I extend my sympathy to the family over the loss of their precious member.

To the O'Haras,
I share in the sadness of Mick's passing. Mick loved baseball. The O'hara boys, the Cash boys, the Wilmes boys, and the Walker boys, and countless other neighborhood kids played baseball in the field across the street from Mick's. We used his house faucet for our water. We had quite a rivalry going with another group of boys several neighborhoods away. Mick was always ready for a short notice game. If you ever have seen the movie The Sandlot, you would know what i mean. Mick was a classmate, a neighbor, and my boyhood friend. My condolences to his whole family.

To Mick's Family,
I am the son of Hilda Tomczik, who, if she were still with us, I know would want to send her deepest sympathy to you all. She knew Mick, and she and my father knew Cecil and Sid and many of your family members, going back to the late 1940's. Our house was the second one built in Oakdale Addition in 1947,just down 3rd Street from 'Cecil's Place' - and just a couple of blocks from where Cecil built his house. My older brother and I would walk to Cecil's to get our hair cuts. Years ago, my mother introduced me to Mick at O'Hara's, which always remained one of her favorite eating places. On all our visits Mick was always very kind to her, and of course she enjoyed sharing family tales of his Dad and uncle - and the 'old days.' Her memories of all of the O'Hara families, and the parts they played in local history, were nothing but positive. She was fond of Mick, and in my interactions with him I could easily understand why. To lose someone of his caliber so early is a true loss to everyone whose lives he touched. My sympathy to you all. Gary Tomczik, Goleta, CA

The entire O'Hara family,
Was saddened to hear the news of Mick's passing. What a wonder family to grow up next door too as a kid. Mick was the big brother of the neighborhood for many of us and like all the O'Hara's, was as good as they get. He'll be greatly missed, but has left a life time of wonderful memories for all to carry on. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.
