Paul was one of the most memorable people I have ever met. His outward appearance was kind of intimidating. He had the classic biker look but it didn't take long to realize he was a kind and gentle person. He showed his kindness in many ways. His yard was like our extended playground. My first experience on a trampoline was in Paul's back yard. One of the 1st things my sisters and I looked forward to in the spring was going to the cabin and playing on “Paul's Beach”. I had a lot of good times with Paul when I visited the cabin. It was fun to fish with Paul because there was never a dull moment. When he caught a catfish, he helped me with my English class by expanding my vocabulary. We didn't have to catch fish to have fun. Just being in his company was fun.

I'm really going to miss Paul but I will not forget him. I'm going to miss hearing his motorcycle rev up in the morning on his way to work. Paul experienced a lot in his life and l will miss the advice he shared. I will miss his clever comments, like how he thought the gap in my sisters teeth made them perfect.

Even though we aren't related, to me he was “Uncle Paul”.
