Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of RoseAnn Omann, age 87, of St. Stephen will be 11AM, Thursday, January 24th 2013 at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Father Robert Harren will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service. RoseAnn died peacefully at Good Shepherd Nursing home in Sauk Rapids Monday morning. There will be a visitation from 4-8PM TODAY, Wednesday, January 23th at the St. Stephen Catholic Church Hall and again from 10AM until the time of the service Thursday morning. Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 6PM, and a parish prayer service will take place at 7PM at the church hall. Arrangements are being made with the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home.
RoseAnn was born October 19th, 1925 to Herman and Anna (Bernick) Slivnik in St. Stephen. She married Joseph L. Omann on June 4, 1946 in St. Stephen. The couple raised their five children on the farm, but RoseAnn also worked for Minco Lenses and Index 53. RoseAnn had a love of the outdoors which she put into her garden. She also had a creative artistic side that she demonstrated through her embroidery work over the years. RoseAnn was an active member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church where she volunteered with the St. Stephen Mission Group, the Christian Mothers, and was also a member of the church choir.
RoseAnn is survived by her children Richard (Kurt Hoffman) Omann, Brooklyn Park; Kathryn (Leon) Koshenina, Annandale; Linda Mueller, Clear Lake; Geneva (Dan Axelrod) Omann, Weed, CA; Gerrie (Robert) Schmidt, Avon; her grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Kevin, Andy, and Jeremy; her step-grandchildren Katie and Sharon; her great-grandson Cael; and her step-great-grandchildren Meadow, Hunter, Miguel, and Marisol; her siblings Eva Warnert, St. Joseph; Theresa (David) Hunstiger, Rockville; Mary Jane Spychalla, Waite Park; Alfred (Diane) Slivnik, St. Cloud; Frank (Annette) Slivnik, St. Stephen; Robert (Evelyn) Slivnik, St. Stephen; James Slivnik, St. Stephen; Michael Slivnik, St. Stephen; Agnes (Al) Schulte, Sartell; and AnnaMae (Roger) Trobec, St. Stephen.
She is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Anna Slivnik, her husband Joseph L. Omann who passed in 1968, her son-in-law Mark Mueller, and her siblings Dorothy Justin and Steve Slivnik.
A special thank you goes out to the staff of the Good Shepherd Nursing home for the exceptional care they gave our mother over the years.
