To the Bettencourt family, I want you to know, he talked of you with such a proud and loving heart. Yes it is shocking he is gone and it hurts the heart deeply. I was a patient of his and from the 1st day I met him, knew he was a down to earth magical person. You don't have the blessing every day to meet someone uplifting and caring to the degree he was. No words can really speak to the depth of emotion at a time like this...may your hearts be soothed, and I offer my sincerest condolences.

Dear Bettencourt family,
I have just learned of the sad news today. I have to say it comes as a shock to me and my family. He loved to talk about Jesse. My son & Jesse were both born in the same month and more recently during Chiro visits, he loved to tell me how things were going in school for him. He was a great man. You should be proud of what he accomplished in his life. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. He helped us through our pain, now how can we help you through yours?

I was shocked to hear of Kevin's death. I had to read the letter several times before I realized it was "My Doctor Bettencourt". My husband and I have been long time patients and friends of Kevin.

"When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more conversation, one more touch.”

“We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived, and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Kevin. We are deeply saddened by your loss. -
“Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you.”

Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon.

Be well.

Mrs. Bettencourt, Jesse and family, We just received the news of Kevin's passing today. I was in tears immediately and couldn't believe what I was reading. My 10 year old daughter broke out crying. We are truly sorry for your loss and cannot grasp this to be true. My husband has gone to Kevin for 11 years and he is much more than a chiropractor. He is a listener, friend, gives great advice, loved talking about his son and wife. I started going to Kevin about 2 years ago as well as my daughter and he has helped us tremendously. Kevin impacted so many lives and this is just a terrible loss for all. Our sympathys and prayers be with you.

To the Bettencourt Family: This week-end a friend of mine told me how upset her daughter was at learning that her Chiropractor had died. I knew she lived in Southern York County so I asked her to find out who the doctor was. I was so shocked to learn that it was Kevin. I met Kevin almost 25 years ago at a Parker Seminar in Dallas Texas - it feels like it was yesterday. I am so proud to have called him friend. Annette - I remember how happy he was when he met you and how much he loved you. We would only talk about every 3-4 years, often when I referred a patient to him - always the same, happy, good-natured Kevin. Last time I remember how proud he was of Jesse. I sit here so saddened by your loss - your son, brother, husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Annette, Jesse and Family,

I just found out about Kevin this am. I called to leave a message at his office and when i heard the message i knew something was very wrong. After doing some research on line i found out what i dreaded. As you know we moved back to Raynham, Mass in 2002. Prior to that Kevin was my chiropractor for over 10 years. We were just in Portsmouth over the Memorial weekend and drove by his office. I called him my "brother". He was my soul brother. I remember how happy he was when he was getting married to you. I remember when Jesse came. His most precious possession. He is the true humanitarium. He couldn't do enough for anyone. I always enjoyed walking into his office and getting the biggest smiles from he and Bridgett. No one can ever take his place. I also got a big kick out of leaving his office and a large dog on the way in. He wanted to help everyone. I feel so honored and blessed to have known him. He will be on my heart for the rest of my life. My prayers and thoughts are with you. God Bless you.

I am Dr. Maryanne Cormier from Windham N.H. I went to Palmer with Kevin and he was a wonderful friend to me all the way through, especially when I was ready to quit. I was shocked when I walked into the Rye beach store and was told of the circumstance. I pray for all of you..I have been through a loss myself recently and it is very hard. I pray Kevin is with God...he certainly desearves it. Be strong ..God Bless
