My knowledge of Al was with the UW track team, where I learned that he was a good person to be around. He was always humble and friendly, yet very talented. Al had a good sense of who he was and where he had come from. He was happy with success, supportive of others around him and compassionate when he saw others who were in pain. I always felt better to have spent time in his company. I lost track of Al after graduation, but thought of him often. I was saddened to read of his passing, but happy that he had led a good life, helping others. Murray McCord, MSW

Charlene and Family, Donna, Nick, and families.
I have known your family for ever and am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I remember watching him practice the shot put and also remember when his picture was on the Wheaties Box. Our thoughts are with all of you.
Myrna (MIlls) and Bob Snead.
