Uncle Arnie was an amazing man. I remember my mother telling me about his heroic service as a US Army Aircorpsman during World War II. It's surreal to think Uncle Arnie was part of that "Greatest Generation". They accepted that challenge and completed their mission. The fact that Uncle Arnie and this same generation, ,endured the Great Depression, just adds to their legacy. One of the coolest events I've ever attended was Arnie and Ellen's 50th wedding anniversary. The night was clear and beautiful and the lights in and around Lake Union provided a stunning backdrop. On display as you entered the facility were Arnie and Ellen's wedding attire. Aunt Ellen wore a beautiful wedding dress and Uncle Arnie his dress military uniform. They were displayed gorgeously in a lighted display case. Uncle Harold was there and well, it was really cool!
I also remember one of the best times of my life! It was those regular 4th of July celebrations at Arnie and Ellen's Lake Tapps summer home. Fireworks, boating, swimming, barbeque and family, what could be better! My brother and Eric listened to the rock music of the day and shared the bond of being about the same age. Stan and I and Lindsay did the same. The memories of those times will always be special. God Bless you Uncle
Arnie, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love Scott
