Dear Rick, I want you to know how truly missed you are. At Easter celebration, your nephew John shared with us how much you have meant to him over the years and shed tears reminiscing about the many times you spent together. I know how much dedication and support both John and Joann unconditionally gave to both you and Helen. The stories, laughter, and tears you shared during each of your twice weekly visits at Kline Galland created a bond normally shared between father and son. You will live on forever through John and may you be at peace knowing your wishes will be honored, just as they honored you and paid you your most deserved final respect.
Our dear Uncle Rick. Dave and I thank you so much for you and Helen stepping in and becoming parents and grandparents to our family. We have such fond memories of all your visits to San Diego. I will never forget when you dressed as Santa and when you watched Luke for our Hawaii trip. When we returned Luke wanted you and Helen, not us. That shows how much love you gave to Luke. We will miss all our visits with You at Kline Galland, especially the last one in November. You know what that means!
We will miss all your stories and all your love. You will live on in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace with your beloved Helen.

The most incredible man I ever met. I was honored to spend time with Art in an interview about his life and experiences in World War II. He is someone who I will never forget. All my best to the family and for the dedication of John & Joann for the time you spent with Art. He knew what life was all about and how to live it to the fullest.
Although our time knowing you was limited, we really enjoyed having you at our home for a summer barbeque and the sharing of your stories. So glad you got to enjoy that hotdog and beer. We always stayed connected on your well being through John and Joann. May you rest in peace and thank you for your service. Chuck & Michelle
We remember Rick (and Helen) with much fondness!
Our deepest sympathies,

Uncle Rick was married to my Mom's sister Helen. He was a hero to all America. He was a loving husband and teaching Uncle he taught us how to raise a garden and animals on our Vashon farm. I still love gardening. He and Aunt Helen watched my kids for a few days and they loved it that was 30yrs ago.
We loved you! The stories you have shared over the years have impacting my family deeply. Brian has the background of WWII to remember every detail of every story you shared. I remember enough to know you were a hero. My girls loved the stories of you growing up in Nebraska. They also loved your sense of humor. We have a great picture of you goofing around when we visited in December. I wish I had more of your gardening skills...but I have time to develop them!
Thank you for all you have shared with us. I am so happy to know that you are at peace and with Aunty Helen!

My sympathy to all . Art was my favorite uncle and Dad's youngest brother. I had a wonderful visit with him a few years ago in Seattle. What a joy it was! I always will remember him and the good times when he visited Nebraska.
