Hello to the Hansen Family. I'm Duane Samuelson (Lois's cousin). Lois's Mom was my Dad's (Willard) sister. Being a boy I usually hung out with Lowell while my sister hung out with Lois. We lived in North Branch and the Nelson's lived in Mpls so we usually only got together during family functions at one of relatives. Remember playing cards (500 and whist) upstairs at Mimmie and Al Nelson's house in Cambridge, where Roy coached Lois and Willard coached me. Those guys played a very serious game of cards. But they always made it fun. Lois was pretty good...but she had me by a few years. Also have fond memories of vacationing
with the Nelson's in Lindstrom at Fil Samuelson's (Helen's brother) cottage on the lake and we (the kids) motor boated around the lake. Must have been around 1950. That would have certainly made us "kids".
Regret not being able to spend adult time together but our careers took us in different directions from Minnesota.
My condolences to your family. /Duane
Dear Hal, Children, Lowell and Darlene, I have 2 great memories I would like to share. First, I was the happiest girl alive when I got Lois' white ice skates and Roy, Al, my Dad ( Willard),Lowell, Duane and I went ice skating in North Branch. The second is a picture I have of Lois, Lowell, me and Duane sitting on my Dad's horse.
I send my sympathy and want to let you know or remind you what a wonderful childhood I had with Lois. With Love, Donis Samuelson Horton.
Lois, your light will always shine on. We will remember your grace, style, and your loving and caring ways. I am so thankful to have had you in my life. May all your days in heaven be full of peace and joy.
