Knowing your father taught me many life experiences. Every year my father would buy a poinsettia for Dr. Fisher even though he was Jewish and didn't celebrate Christmas. It was my first experience with other faiths. Dad wanted him to know what a special friend he was, so we took a plant up to the Grosvenor House every year. Once we went to visit and Roger was showing off his skills as a magician, and not having boys, dad really enjoyed his antics. Our fathers played tennis at Volunteer Park and I remember going to the fancy Seattle Tennis Club with them and finding out that our dads could not join. I was so disappointed. Your mother was in a terrible car accident and I will never be able to look at a VW bug without thinking of her. I can remember how kind Peter was when my father was dying of cancer. Just wanted you to know. Best regards to you all. Francine Shafer, Fung Chinn's daughter.
