Dr Short showed me what personal responsibility is when I was a 14-year-old with an attitude and small regard for the truth. I owe him greatly, he was a good man.
This man helped guide me in the right direction! So sorry for your loss, we have lost a great man but never forgotten
It was my honor to know Bob in many different aspects during his life. I was a 7th grade student in one of his earliest math classes, a player on a football team he coached, a teacher working under him as the administrator, and a friend sharing time on Kauai in retirement. During this entire time I saw him as a totally open, giving, caring, honest, student directed, professional filled with an excitement for life and one wishing to share it with those around him. Bob made those student and teachers around him want to worker harder to keep up the standards he set for himself. He will be greatly missed by many but will be remembered fondly for all he did for others during his life. I am so thankful that his life crossed mine so many times in so many ways.
I was greatly saddened to hear the news of Bob's passing. I am a SHoreline High School graduate and later on in life I ran into him again when my oldest daughter attended Faith Lutheran. What a beautiful person who made everyone feel special. My heart goes out to his family. He will never be forgotten.
I will always have fond memories of Dr. Short as the last principal of Shoreline High School. He was always fair, caring and willing to listen. He was supportive of the students and helped make the transition with the closing of the school easier on all of those who were affected. Every day in the school bulletin, Dr. Short included a "quote of the day." One day, after a particularly less-than inspirational quote was read, I espoused, "Thank you Dr. Bob..." and that catch phrase became the traditional way to end the reading of the daily bulletin in our Leadership Class for the next two years. Now, again I say, "Thank you Dr. Bob," for all the great things you did for your students, faculty and co-workers. May you rest in peace.
Bob Short was an awesome administrator both at Shoreline and Shorewood High Schools. One of the best principals I ever had the opportunity to work with during my teaching and counseling career. Bob was always fair, direct, and supportive of his staff, students and parents. A great man and a great friend who will be truly missed.
Bob was a great administrator and wonderful man with a youthful outlook. I admired him so much!
I will forever miss my best friend and Husky Bud Robert Short aka (FORREST GUMP).
My thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Short's loved ones. Rest in Peace.
