I recently heard about her passing.. It greatly saddens me that the world has to go on without such a dedicated and great gal. It was an honor to have known her. God Bless you Rose.
So sorry to learn about the Rose, although it has been many years since we worked together at FHC, I always respected her advocacy and her frankness. A straight forward communicator, always appreciated. I am sure she will be greatly missed.
Requiescat In Pace, Rose Alfred
Rose was a friend. Not in the usual sense of the word. We never shared a meal, went to the movies, gossiped over the back fence. But Rose was a friend.
She was a friend to Operation Nightwatch. She paid attention to the needs of homeless people. When we needed workers to clean out the new building, Rose came with husband Steve to help us dig out. When a microwave broke, she found one to donate. When a cranky senior needed a ride to the store, Rose obliged.
This month we got the shocking news that she had died. I am grieving. I can hear Rose's frank way of speaking and her sharp wit. These will never be replaced. Her loving care for homeless people, and for formerly-homeless seniors will be an enduring memory in my mind, and in the mind of God.
The Lord bless her and keep her. Grant peace to us all.
I will miss Rose's good humor while she helped formerly homeless seniors at Operation Nightwatch. Peace to the family.
Steve and family,
I'm sorry that Rose has passed away and for the grief you must bear until time, too, passes and cherished memories remain. I have only positive memories of Rose from the many years we worked together at Group Health. She had an infectious smile and she was fun. Rose was a remarkable woman, a healer of fragile bodies, of wounded spirits and a steward of our earth. She is an inspiration for living a life with meaning, purpose and joy. I will miss her.
I'm so sorry to hear of hear of your loss and especially remember her laugh!
Rest in Peace Rose
Rosalie, I'll always remember your laugh ! May your Rest in Peace

Steve and family. Please know you are in my heart and prayers. Rose was an incredible woman, full of compassion and humor and one of my all time favorite traveling companions. She will be missed. Her smiling eyes always made me smile. She was always committed to make this world a better place to live and she did!!!
On behalf of our Sisters who taught Rosalie at Holy Names Academy, Seattle, we offer our prayerful sympathy to all of her family and friends. Her life has changed, not ended. May Rosalie be full of peace and joy - so much so, that her nearness brings those gifts to each of you.
Seattle, Steve, Sarah Sean, Ryan will miss their loving wife, and Mother always, I as a neighbour and cultural goer friend will too. Well done (as we Catholics say) faithful servant. You have left wonderful memories of a life very well lived in helping those who have less. Carmel
As one of the founding members in our union, Rose led the way for many improvements for all of us at Group Health and healthcare workers across the state. Rose has always had a special place in my heart because of that and her tireless energy for her family and community. Our SEIU 1199NW family has lost a great advocate and we will miss her.

I am so sad for our loss. What a lady she was. A great Mom, Nurse, sister and friend.
I worked with her and have known her 40+ years and we enjoyed work and social life together.
She was such an inspiration to me in many ways.
The world is better for sure because of Rose.
With my love and prayers

I remember Rose as a staunch advocate; level headed, outgoing, friendly and inclusive, particularly to me when I first joined the executive board of 1199NW. My sincere condolences and love to you Steve and the wide circle of family and friends you all have.
Rose always had such strength in communicating clearly. She is my role model in so many ways!
Steve, I am sitting in Tucson and I just heard about Rose. I am so very sorry for your loss and send condolences to you and all her children I 've thought of all of you since I left Group Health and Seattle. Rose will be truly missed by all who knew her. She taught me a lot as a medical assistant and I truly appreciated the help she gave myself and all the patients that passed through our station, We had some very great opportunities and shared several occasions as friends at your home. Please extend our sympathy to her brother Jerry as well. I'm deeply saddened but hope all of you feel the friendships that surrounded Rose and you.
