Marilyn Marshall Ahrens
Age 84, Marilyn passed away peacefully February 4, 2016 near her home in Bellevue, WA.
She was born July 20, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to Aviation Pioneer Frank H. Jerdone and Thelma Davis Marshall.
Marilyn grew up in the Seattle area, primarily in Medina, WA near downtown Bellevue. In her early life she worked as a dispatcher for the Bellevue Police Department when there was only one stoplight in town. She graduated from the University of Washington and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.
She looked forward to visiting her cousins and family in Hawaii, returning as often as possible. Her best friend of 72 years Jean Rupp Kennelly still resides on Lake Sammamish in Washington where Marilyn enjoyed visiting on weekends.
Marilyn Ahrens was preceded in death by her oldest son, Karl Ahrens. She is survived by her sons Dale Ahrens (Kate) of Medina, WA and James Ahrens of Rockledge, FL, her granddaughter Alexandra Ahrens-Dacy, and grandson Paul Ahrens.
At Marilyn's request, no memorial service will be held. Instead, she asked for family and friends to gather for an event to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.

Marilyn: I find great sadness in reading this on facebook. I truly find you as an amazing person. My Bellevue Belle. I will miss you sweetheart. I loved being your neighbor here at Amli. I always loved walking into 520 and seeing you ladies live it up! I will miss you, your smile and your generous ways. RIP my dear...

With great sadness for such a wonderful, loving, person. May happy memories and many prayers fill your hearts forever. May, it also be comforting to remember that we can call on God and he will give us the needed strength to cope with our sorrows.(Psalms 55:16)
