"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy." -Author Unknown

On behalf of the Bothell High School Alumni Association, Sunshine Committee - We want to send our Sincere Condolences of the loss of a True Blue BHS Cougar.

Ray welcomed us to the neighborhood with a friendly wave. He and Beth were wonderful neighbors. He hired my teenage sons to work in his yard and then coached them how to be good employees. They learned many life lessons from Coach Schaaf- how to work hard, how important it is to show up on time, how to prune roses properly and most importantly how to be honorable young men. The time our boys spent with Ray was way more valuable than the wage he and Beth offered. We are forever grateful for their willingness to invest in our sons lives. Ray will be sorely missed.

First and foremost a dad but also a life coach and coach to a legend of players that respected his discipline. I learned these lessons too as a son. Dad left peacefully knowing that mom was well taken care of. Will miss stories of his youth growing up in the Palouse and college life at our Wednesday dinners.
