What a champion of a friend Bob was to us; always loyal, never ill-tempered. A class act gentleman.

Bob --- We speak of you often and celebrate your many accomplishments; including your beautiful home and lively humor. ~ Emily Hill/Barry Ehrlich

I was at Bob's memorial service yesterday and enjoyed hearing his many friends and colleagues stories of his boundless efforts to retain Seattle natural beauty. What an impressive set of accomplishments!

However, that was not the Bob I knew. Our paths crossed after the bulk of these efforts. I knew a man retired from his successful business and was transitioning from leader to mentor in his civic callings. Although still very involved, he was taking more time to enjoy his family and surroundings. My memories are of holiday dinners, strolls through the park he loved so, quite moments gazing out from their beautiful home, reading, discussing the events of the day and my favorite; watching him make Ruth laugh followed by a "Oh Bob, thats a good one!".

It had been a long time since I saw the Kildalls. It was wonderful to see them. I just wish I could of seen Bob also, with the eye twinkle often mentioned and the wise half smile that told you a joke was brewing in his active mind. He, Ruth, Maria and Kristian made me feel at home the moment I walk into their lives. I wish them all and Bob's spirt the very best.

If there were more people like Bob in this world, we'd be far better off. Thank you Bob for fighting for Discoverty Park through all the years and for your help and support in improving the lives of animals who share this world with us. We will miss you. Lee and Lynne Marachario
