Pamela Remington Obituary

Pamela Jean Remington

Pamela Jean (Hansen) Remington, born May 26, 1951, passed away suddenly at the age of 62 on December 20, 2013 in Everett, Washington. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Remington, her sister Patricia Hansen, mother-in-law Dorothy Remington and Donald Springsteen, sister-in-law Becky Brown and her husband Dave, their two children Mitch and Krista, and countless other family members and friends.

Pam was born in Yankton, South Dakota to parents Robert and Lorraine Hansen. She lived her early years there, moving to the Seattle area in 1962. She had countless friends growing up, but none better than her sister Pat. She graduated from Federal Way High School in 1969, and then attended the University of Washington where she became a lifelong Husky fan.

Pam's career included 19 years at GTE, followed by 7 years working for Hansen Design Company and 2 years at Starbucks. A few years ago she went through Dental Administrative Training, and worked in that field until her retirement in 2012.

The last 32 years of her life were spent with the love of her life, Jeffrey Remington, in their lovely home in Marysville. Pam loved to make things beautiful, and her talents are visible every place she touched. From her "fairy garden" to her interior decorating talents, from cooking fantastic meals to shopping anywhere anytime, her love of beauty and good was everywhere. Her influence on her sister's home and life was immense, and she so enjoyed having sleepovers at Pat's lake house.

Her love of travel took her to Cannon Beach, Leavenworth, Europe, Hawaii, and countless trips to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Pam lit up a room with her wit and silliness, and she attracted people wherever she went. She was a bundle of joy and her happiness was contagious.

Pam's family and friends will miss her greatly, but those who loved her will hold her spirit close. She is now in the arms of God, her mom and dad, her little brother Gregory, and her sweet dog, Otis.

Rest in peace sweet wife, sweet sister, sweet friend. We love you.

Remembrances may be made in Pam's honor to the San Juan Preservation Trust, or adopt an orca whale through the Whale Museum in Friday Harbor. A celebration of Pam's life will be announced at a later date.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Jeff and Pat,
Carl and I extend our deepest sympathy to both of you in the loss of your sweet Pam. There was an instant connection when we met Pam and Pat for the first time in 2011 in Cabo.
We especially enjoyed meeting Jeff in September while traveling through Washington. It was obvious to see the love that Pam and Jeff had for each other.
Pam will forever be in our hearts and her love for life, laughter and sense of humor will never be forgotten.

Jeff and Pat,
Our deepest sympathy is extended to Jeff and Pat as you have a big loss to accept. Pam was full of enthusiasm for her life and everyone else who was in her company. We will treasure the special times we shared with her on the beach at Cabo. These included many tips, scrumptious recipes, great reading suggestions and decorating ideas she gave me during our relaxing moments at poolside.

Together we are proud to have known Pam and will always be reminded of her life as we'll be thinking of both of you.

Best of life's wishes for each of you.

Love,
Joanne and Dick Masica

Jeff, Please take care of yourself at this difficult time. Pam was such a great person. I loved working with her at GTE and our "girls weekends", shopping and getting away for awhile. Her flair for decorating was incredible. She was a delight to be around-always cheerful and joking. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Denise and Jim Ohlfs

Deepest sympathies to Jeff and Pat. Pam's laughter, wit, and kindness will be missed. I don't think the word "stranger" was in her vocabulary; she encompassed so many with her openness and friendship. The sun in Cabo will shine less brightly without her.

Jeff,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your beautiful wife. Know that we are all thinking of you. I met her in the shop and she shared her information on the ferry garden with me. She was a sweet person to talk with.

Pat and Jeff: Blessings to you both. Oh, how we will miss Pam. A generous and loving woman, she reminded us to stop and take in the beauty that was around us. Our adventures in Cabo San Lucas were made all the better because she was a part of them. I loved her spirit. Her laughter. The twinkle in her eye! She taught me to loosen up, to relax, and to buy her favorite brand of make-up!
I can only honor her life by living her lessons and trying to be a more generous and gentle human being. My dear dear friend, Vaya con Dios...

My heart and prayers go out to Jeff, Pat and the rest of Pam's family! I first met Pam when she got into the dental industry. She was in a class of about 8 gals, and was a sheer delight to everyone. Her personality drew you in to want to be her friend.

Pam was a classy lady who was full of love for everyone. Life was not dull when Pam was around. I am grateful for the opportunity to know Pam, however I am so very sorry she was taken from us so soon. You will be deeply missed sweet Pam!
