Dear Judith, Paul and Heidi,
It was my great honor and privilege to have known Tom and to have had him mentor me in the Society of St Vincent de Paul. His kindness and grace was, and still is, an inspiration to me. I also loved hearing him talk about O'Dea and all sports, but mostly football. I send you my prayers and love,

Judith, Paul and Heidi,
Matthew, Tatianna and I want you to know just how much our lives were blessed by this incredibly beautiful and gentle giant. Tom was a very gracious man and even though we were not able to spend time with him like we would have wanted to, I want you to know that his smile and his gentle ways will always live within my heart. One thing that I will be looking for in Matthew is the kind of love that Tom had for Judith. It was a light that shined on its very own. That's the kind of love that is sung about and wished for by every woman who falls in love with a man. Judith, Tom's love will forever be a part of you and it will last as long as time lasts. My family and I are blessed for knowing both of you and I have been proud to call you "Honorary Mom and Dad".
I love you Judith, God Bless you at this time and may His face shine upon you and give you peace at this terribly hard time, because Tom didn't say good-by but so long for now. He lives in God's tomorrow.
Blessings and Love,
Matthew, Tati and Joyce

To the Connor family…
Tom was a student in the very first social work class I ever taught @ UW in 1970. Though considerably older (and wiser) than I, Tom was an eager, engaged and diligent student: a true gentle-man and a scholar. Subsequently, I would see Tom at professional gatherings and at Catholic Community Services where he practiced for many years and where I served for a time on the board. He always managed to convey a sense of optimism and joy about the work and an eagerness to continue learning. As a teacher, I learned much from him and valued his friendship over the years.
