Claude E. Cornett, 91, Stover, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was a member of VFW Post 2591 and a 37 year member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, both in Sedalia.
Survivors include a son, Pat Cornett, Independence; a daughter, Brenda (John) Cook, Stover; daughter-in-law, Vickie Cornett, Slater; a sister, Ollie Arnold, Kansas City; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 1, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Interment, with military funeral honors, will be in Stover Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 30, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.

I will always have fond memories of all my visits to Stover and how entertaining my Uncle Claude was. My sympathy and love to all.

Pat---So very sorry to hear about your Dad. Jim and I saw him a few months ago at the cafe in Stover. Had a nice visit. He had a special way of making people smile and feel good about life.

Brenda & John, so sorry to hear about your Dad.Your Mom will love seeing him again. Brenda, every time I eat gooseberry pie from now on, I'll have a piece for him as well. If he were here, I'd love to share it with him, but now, I'll have to eat his for him. Again, so sorry to you and your family. Alice Metscher Anderson.
