I am so thankful for the time I knew David. He was a great Doctor and a friend. I will miss him very much.

David and I were classmates in medical school at the University of Chicago. We became close as we went through some of those tough times together. We did manage to do some fun things as well, such as seeing some concerts and catching some ballgames. I was truly inspired when he took off the final year of medical school to train and compete in the Ironman Triathalon in Hawaii. As we both practiced anesthesia in the Bay area, I was able to see him become a wonderful husband and father as well. I'm glad our final communications were on a positive note. He was anticipating a full recovery prior to his final setbacks in his fight with leukemia, so he was asking me to split some season tickets for the our beloved Oakland A's with him! I will miss my friend.

I consider myself lucky to have worked with David Raskin for the last 11 years. He was kind, compassionate, funny, and dedicated. I remember when he married his wife and when they were blessed to have a family. He always had a photo to share of his girls whom he loved deeply. David was one of the most amazing people that I have had the great fortune of knowing. I will miss you and remember you always.
