Erik, my dear brother, it is so hard to believe I will never hear your wonderful stories and tall tales again. I will always treasure those last few days together, and only wish you had been well enough to enjoy them as much as I did. Remember what I told you, "No matter where in the world we are, you are always in my heart. Always have been, always will be". Your baby sister, Saga Christina.

I had the great pleasure to work with Erik for the past two years. He was a fascinating man and I enjoyed the time spent with him. My condolences to his family and friends. I always remember his strict but kind way of teaching me to cook to his liking. What a guy! The best gift ever was to learn to embrace someone and dance...even without any music playing. Thank you Erik.

I spent many a day at "The Eagle" playing all day, listening to Erik's stories and sipping on the finest single malts in the Bay Area. He was a character; sometimes you loved him, sometimes not. A unique man.

I remember countless stories with Erik at Gleneagles where he was as willing to drink a scotch or tell a story as he was to take my money on the putting green. One of the favorite I will remember is the day he was turning over the course and called me in to his office where he handed me the classic old brass cash register that he of course told me a story about and he said he knew I would appreciate and to this day still adorns the front room of my house and entertains many a child with its echoing classic "ding". Erik will be remembered by me every time I hear that sound just as he is every time I enter the hallowed clubhouse at Gleneagles - a place where if he had not kept it alive I would not still be in my favorite city San Francisco. My deepest condolences to all those who loved him. DK

I spent many a day at Gleneagles in SF playing golf with Erik. He was a one-of-a-kind icon. So sorry to hear that he's gone. My best wishes to his family...
