Betsy,Ruth and I were stunned to read of Harvey's passing. I had the good fortune to work with Harvey for 9 years in Detroit.
Harvey was always a lot of fun and gifted creative painter(with his words).Harvey was a good friend,a valued partner and a rare human being.

Lost in an adv world far from school, I looked for Havey's Blog or what in school were simply harvey's privileged words of wisdom. Tis then, today a year since his passing I found him to have befallen life's ultimate fate. Wow, just a student fortunate enough to have had him as a teacher , mentor, ...all blessings to family as he came to class with predicaments like "is it normal for a kid to come home and shut the door"--to yeah my, his is going to tuffs....He always though of you even when teaching us. L.Oberto' 11. He was a teacher who never forgot he was also a human, perhaps that is the key to his fortune in life, and perhaps his legacy.
Harvey, Your beautiful awards are on the mantle. You are here in your loving spirit. I miss you all the time. We are doing well. Dashiell, Nathaniel and me. Have the best day you can! Love forever, Betsy
Papa, I miss you terribly. P.D.
John and I miss your presence, and we always will. But you would be happy to know that we have so many fond memories of our times together, especially New Year's celebrations with you, Betsy, and Nathaniel. We will never forget the s'mores that we shared over the fire pit at the Ritz in HMB. Nor will we ever forget the great times in Calistoga, especially our nights playing Imagine It when we roared with laughter. Mrs. Piggle Wiggle has a prominent spot on our book shelves, and Jayden will get to enjoy her stories thanks to your finding this special book for Alison. You brought us lots of joy and laughter, and you were so kind to us and to all of those you loved. We miss you a lot, and we cherish all of the times we spent with you. Thank you for bringing so much joy and love into our family. You are a part of us and will be with us as long as we live. We want you to know that Betsy, Nathaniel, and Dashiell are close to our hearts.
Love, Kathy and John
I am so terribly sorry for your and your family's loss Betsy.
Oh, Betsy. I am so sorry for this huge loss. And so glad that you had Harvey in your life.
I worked in the registrar's office at Ai and had the pleasure of chatting with Harvey a couple of times a week about everything from student attendance to advice on success from Jimmy Durante. He was one of my favorites and will be missed. My thoughts are with you.
To the Family: My sincere condolences! I have grown to love your family. You are in my thoughts and please dont hesitate to ask if you need anything.
I wish I had more time with Harvey. I knew him as the man who made Betsy happy and as a wonderful father to both Dash and Nate. In the lat few years I had the chance to go to dinner to celebrate B's bday by the sea. We had a great time. He was so funny, smart. and kind. I was able to tell him how much he meant to me when he so graciously offered to help me with a personal matter. I feel so sad that he can't be here with you guys, but I know his memory and spirit will remain. All my love, Ec and fam
Thank you all of you who have written. Harvey would be so happy to know how many of you appreciated him as a teacher. He loved you and he loved teaching! He and I actually wrote his obituary together two weeks before he died, with the help of his son, Dashiell. It was special. So was he! We miss him terribly. Thank for your good thoughts. They matter. Best, Betsy
Harvey you will be greatly missed. You were the most influential teacher for me at the AI. You constantly pushed me and changed the way I view advertising. I will never forget the things you taught me. Thank you for openly sharing your wisdom, amazing humor, and for caring so deeply in teaching your students.
I don't have words to say just how grateful I am to have been graced by Harvey and have been a student of his, being awarded the time to soak up his knowledge and have great fun along the way. Harvey's personality was absolutely wonderful and I appreciate his influence, charm and wit. He is and will always be one of a kind and dearly missed. A true inspiration for us both in and outside of the Advertising industry.

Harvey was the foundation of my advertising education. His warm heart and vast knowledge made him the best educator and a very good friend. He will forever live in my heart.
