My thoughts and prayers to the family of Tim. He was a great man with an endless smile!!!
Lee Ann Agua Ceno
Tim was a fine mentor and such a nice guy. He provided me great opportunity at a time in life when it's more difficult to enter police work. I'll always be grateful to Tim. I wish his family and friends all the best as they deal with his loss. RIP Chief.
Tim was one of the finest human beings I have ever met. He was a "cops' cop" . He always had a smile, and a helping hand and showed the greatest loyalty to family and friends. I just cannot believe he is gone. His memory will be treasured by all of us. Mary Ellen O'Toole
Tim was always kind enough to drop whatever he as doing and take time to talk with me whenever I went to the Broadmoor station. It was a honor to know him.
A tribute from the California State Assembly:
My prayers are with the Guiney family. Tim was a special person. I'll never forget his kindness to Joe and I at the 2008 Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Ne.
Tim would be proud of both Michelle and Katie today as they spoke of him. He was an honorable man who was admired by many. Michelle, you can pass on some great stories to your son as he grows up about hid Papa. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. God will hold Tim in the Palm of his hand for sure.
I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Tim and Katie through working at Kaiser and, dubiously, preparing their chemotherapy. What an inspiration, both of them, and I hope now they can be together again- maybe driving up the coast with the top down. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends left behind. Such a great, great man. Let your memories console you.
I am SURE Tim was a relative- my Dad was also a Timothy J. Guiney. Whether or not this is so, reading these notes helps me see what a nice fellow he was. Saying prayers for the family.
I can't seem to find the right words to express how much your friendship meant. You gave us your guidance, laughter, support and most of all, your love. I just want your family to know how much you loved them because Timbo and I always enjoyed your stories of how they were doing. You spoke with such pride and we were thankful for your updates. Now, both my Timbo and you are gone but you both shall forever remain in my broken heart. I love you Chief. Sherry
Prayers and condolences to the Guiney family and friends. From a former Broadmoor PD Reserve and retired BART PD officer.
Tim and I started in the Sheriff's Reserves together. When I left Brisbane PD, he was hired to replace me. Sorry we drifted apart because he was one of the truly nice guys with an exceptional gift of gab.
How sad to lose such a wonderful and caring man. It was always a joy to see Tim, whether it was in my office or at a gathering. He and Bob are now doing the "salleyport shuffle" together in heaven.
Tim, you are already missed!
Tim: You are one of the good guys. You did not just talk about making the World a better place. You made it happen through you actions, deeds and good humor. I will miss your insight, your enthusiasm and your wit. Godspeed my friend. Thank you for your friendship and thank you for all you've done for San Mateo County.
Tim was the best! Always so full of fun and life! Met him in the mid'60's when he worked with my husband, Bill O'Connor, at Wilson-Sereni Jeep in Daly City. He's been a lifelong friend and will always be remembered! RIP Timmy!
I grew up in Broadmoor and Tim was as great of a friend/mentor to me as he was a police chief. My mother and I had visits with him quite often as I had shown much interest in one day becoming an officer. Although it never happened I never forgot him, or how well he treated myself along with my family. He will be surely missed but never forgotten...
My deepest sympathies to all family members and anyone else fortunate enough to have known Tim. He will be greatly missed, but forever lovingly treasured by all who are left behind to keep his memory alive.
I was fortunate to meet Tim over 30 years ago when he was with Brisbane PD and I was with Millbrae PD. We would meet, car to car, on US 101 at the brisbane scales and discuss "pressing issues". You only meet a few friends in a lifetime that you would do anything for because they would do the same no questions asked. Tim was one of those friends. Tim was and is priceless!
Honored to have known Tim first as a neighbor and then as a friend for more than 60 years. On matters of this world and especially on matters of the heart, Tim was a Giant. He was always there when needed and usually with a big smile. Our prayers are with the entire Guiney family. Vaya Con Dios, Tim. Roger Prince and Carolyn Prince Ficcadenti
I,ve known Tim since the mid 60s when I was a DCPD officer. He used to ride with me and we had a lot of laughs together. He was always upbeat and laughing.Great man who will be sorely missed.
A great mentor and a great person. You will be truly missed.
God will ask Tim, "What did you do with those I gave you to love?" And Tim will of course be modest and say, "I did my best to show them I loved them." Our gracious and all-knowing God, understanding that Tim did so much more than is asked of us mere mortals, will simply nod and respond, "You did enough. Now come home to rest." We already miss you Timmy.
although I had only met Tim several times, I remember him as a kind gentle man with a sense of humor. I lived in Brisbane for some years. In a small town we all got to know each other to some degree. God bless and rest in peace
Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Guiney Family in their time of loss.
My Condolences to the Guieny Family. It truly is a loss to San Mateo County.
A true trooper and friend! I've known him throughout my 3 decades in law enforcement. He'd help you with a sergeant's promotional exam...or have a cup of coffee with you on the graveyard shift. I will truly miss you, Tim, as a part of my law enforcement family and friend.
Timmy, you son of a gun, t'was quite a shock to learn of your passing. You were one of the good guys who walked this earth and help so many people out. You will be missed,my friend, by all who you touched.
I worked with Tim in Brisbane, he for the PD and me for the PW. We were both somewhat reluctant fire fighters, but back than, you just did your job. He was always a kind man. Bless Tim and family.
My comrade in arms, mentor, peer and most of all my friend. I will miss you and the enormous influence you had in my life. I was a better officer, supervisor and person for having known you. Rest in peace and we will meet again!
Tim was always an uncle to me, watching over me, saying the right words as he saw me grown up. It was an honor to work with him at Brisbane PD. May comfort and peace be with his family. He left us with many fond memories and love.
Tim---What a good good man, great cop and even better leader. You helped me a lot during my career and will be forever grateful. We both made it to see our grand kids who are true gifts. You were always a class act who anyone could come to for help/advice. Loved our conversations. A true loss to everyone especially your family and to cops everywhere. Don Mac DCPD
I, like so many others spent a lot of time out in the Bayshore (midnights) with Tim. He and I hit if off right away. He was always there for me and many others when sound advice was needed and he never looked down on you when giving it either. A tough loss for so many.
Sending a prayer with the light of the candle. Much love to the family and friends.
As part of the family I can only feel sorrow for the ones left behind. Will always remember the warm greetings and smiles.
Uncle Tim, I have know you since I was seven years old. I remembered when I first met you when my mom, Bernadette Gonzalez, was taking care of Aunt Kate. Thank you so much for giving me advice of how to maintain a good life and technically being my beloved mentor. There is simply no one who could replace you. I love you pal.
A true "GENTLEman" and a friend to everyone he met...
It was always a pleasure to have worked with Tim in organizing the annual Kops N Kids Day at Serra Bowl. It was Tim who made the event a success every year. Glod Bless you and may you rest in peace.
Tim loved being a cop, being around cops and sharing in the stories and humor. I will miss the lunches and the coffees. See you at Starbucks - save me a seat.
Tim, we were fortunate to have met you and been able to spend time with you. You were not only a comedian, but you loved life and helping people. May you rest in peace.
I was saddened to hear of Tim's passing. He was a very special human being and a dear friend. We served together on the Service League Board of Directors where he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim and his family.
Tim, was always a gentleman. He had a great sense of humor with a great laugh. I always enjoyed seeing him at every event. He was loved by many and will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss.
Tim was a great man who was always thinking of others. He advanced the level of professionalism in law enforcement, but more importantly was a wonderful human being. He will truly be missed.
One of the greats who will be missed, but never forgotten. Thanks for the friendship, laughs and love T.J.!
You are the best! Thank you for all your words of wisdom and friendship!!!
Timmy,is one of the best cops I know.,and a good friend...
Great memories of working The Bayshore with Tim! Honored to be his friend. RIP
Many happy memories of Tim and our friendship over the past 44 years. The lunches at the old Jack Tar Hotel with his LL group were spectacular. Sorry to lose such a great guy.
Always a smile and a warm handshake whenever we met. I will remember him fondly.
Sincerest condolences to the entire extended Guiney family.
My goodness. What a good fellow. Tim was such a positive influence on every Law Enforcement agency in San Mateo County. His presence would light up any event while his endearing smile would warm your heart. We were all very lucky to have known Tim, and are all better people because of him.
A wonderful human being who left this world a better place. So long my old friend...
