Richard Street

Obituary

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former Motown vocalist Richard Street, a member of the Temptations for 25 years, has died. He was 70.

Street's wife, Cindy, says her husband died early Wednesday at a hospital in Las Vegas after a short illness.

Richard Street sang as a young man with Temptations members Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin, but didn't join the famed Motown group until the early 1970s. He later made the move from his native Detroit to Los Angeles with other Motown acts and stayed with the group until the mid-1990s.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but Cindy Street expects services to be held sometime next week in Cypress, Calif.

She says her husband "was a really good person" who should be remembered for his work with the Temptations.

Not sure what to say?

To Mrs Street & the rest of the family My opinion only I´ve been watching a lot of the old Temptations videos last month or so I never knew that Richard played such an important part of the Temptations success he seem to me, like he was on top of the world, being a part of that group and he had a million dollar smile I do believe in my heart that he never got appreciated enough for doing all he did to make them such a success but watching later videos of him when he went off on his solo...

Temptatations, and Richard Street were truly a good fit because he was an excellent addition to the group. He had a beautiful voice and was good to gaze upon. RIP Richard Street

Miss the Temptations there will never be a group like them( so don't even try)

I am so sorry for your loss, Richard reminds me of my brother, Frank Patterson, he was gentle and soft spoken. My grandfathers sister Roma Pearl Russell, married a Willie Street, in Atoka, Oklahoma, I’m positive Richard is probably my cousin, my son Ryan looks a lot like Richard, they have sn innocence about them. I am so sorry for your loss, and sorry I never met you. I’ve lived in Detroit since 1968, I would like to comfort the family, My number is 586 413-8051
