I too just heard the news about Dr. King. What a great doctor and ver nice man. My heart goes out to his family.
Kelly (Dr King) and I were classmates and friends at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Although we had not stayed in contact after we and our classmates went our separate ways to complete our respective residencies, I have fond memories of times together with Kelly and friends. It truly was one of the best times in my life.
Kelly was a pleasant, soft spoken, intelligent, and good humored/good natured human being.
My hope and prayer is that he had a redeeming relationship with our savior, Jesus, for then we will be once again together in heaven.
DR. King was my OB/GYN and delivered my first baby. He was a great Doctor and was so compassionate toward me during my pregnancy. My deepest sympathies to the King Family. You will be deeply missed.
I am so sorry to hear this news. I had just referred a good friend, who just found out she's pregnant, to see Dr. King. She told me the news after she called Kaiser to make her first appointment. He was my OB/GYN for both of my sons and he delivered my second son.
Dr. King was so kind and talked about his family almost every time I saw him at the Kaiser Redlands clinic. I never felt rushed during any of my appointments and always knew he was really listening to my questions and concerns. When he delivered my second child it was the most calm delivery because of how easy going he is. He made my husband and I laugh between each of my contractions.
My deepest condolences to the King family. He will be missed.
Oh no. I am so saddened about this. I recently tried to make an appointment with Dr. King and was told that he was no longer with the clinic. I thought maybe if I searched for him online, I could find him elsewhere and make an appointment and I found this.
My heart is just broken. He was my gynecologist for many, many years. He was one of the kindest, most compassionate and knowledgeable doctors that I ever had the pleasure of knowing.
My condolences go out his parents, his wife and his children. He spoke so fondly of all of you at one time or another during the years when I was his patient. I am deeply saddened to learn of this tragic loss.
My deepest sympathies for the King family. Dr. King was my ob/gyn for my two boys, and actually delivered my last son in may. My husband and I were very sad when we found out he had passed away. We pray for comfort and strength in this difficult time. He was a great man and a wonderful doctor! He will be missed!!
I am just shocked and saddened to hear this news. I just tried to make an appointment with him and the receptionist couldn't find him. I told her I would drive anywhere, even Hawaii, just find him. She couldn't so I googled him thinking I could find him in a non-Kaiser facility and that is when I found the obituary. He was an incredible person with true compassion and insight. My heart breaks for his family as I am sure that they are missing him so. To his parents, you raised an outstanding man, doctor and citizen. To his wife and children, your love flowed out of him and he mentioned you often during visits. How truly blessed you all have been to have had him in your personal lives. I feel blessed and I only had him on a short medical journey. Wonderful man.
My condolences to Dr. King's family. He spoke with love and compassion about his wife and two children every time I went in for an appt. I called today to make an appt. and was very saddened to hear of the loss. May God be with you all at this difficult time.
My deepest condolences to the King family. Dr. King was my OB/GYN years ago and I was one of his patients that followed him, why? Because he was THAT doctor, it's hard to find the words that express my feelings and gratitude towards this man but all I can say is that he was a great man and doctor. I remember him yelling, "It's a girl and she has huge cheeks" when he delivered our daughter, we laughed so much and it's included every time we talk about our daughter's birth. He loved his family and always talked about his wife and kids, told me stories and always had a smile on his face. You will be missed.
I just found out right now when I went to schedule an appointment to see my beloved Dr. King whom I followed from Fontana and I would have followed him anywhere he went in Kaiser. I am so shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was the smartest, kindest, best doctor I ever had and I will miss him terribly. My heart goes out to his wife and his two children whom he loved so much and talked about constantly to me during my exams. Godspeed Dr. King. You will be truly missed. Francesca Harris
Dr. King was my doctor for my first pregnancy, he was by far Awesome he wasnt just like any doctor he was also my friend. he made me feel so comftorable as his patient and would also talk to my mother about her health and would stay ontop of her with taking better care of her health. i just recently found out i was pregnant again called to make my doctor visit with Dr. King at the redlands kaiser and heard the news. im very sad to hear the news. my condolences go out to the King family. Kelly king was a great man so happy i was able to meet him.
Merry Christmas.... May your soul be shining bright in Heaven.
Dr king was my doctor for my last pregnancy (2010)and one of the best doctors by far. After learning I was pregnant again a few days ago I knew when I called to make my appointment who I wanted for my doctor. Sadly the appt rep told me the sad news after my request. My heart definitely goes out to his family. This saddens my heart and soul. Every appointment was more then just a appointment, he didn't spend 2 minutes and then done he actually got to know my growing family and he told stories about his. Very very sad. Prayers.
I just heard today about Dr Kings passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. I was his patient for the last eleven years and he was also both of my daughters Dr. He was the most kind, caring, compassionate Dr I have ever had and he will be very missed, both of my daughters were saddened as well. I will never forget him. I will certainly be praying for your family especially through this season. Again I am so very sorry for your loss.
I just heard of the passing of Dr. King. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a gentle, caring, and compassionate doctor who set the bar high for the rest. He always took time for his patients, listened patiently and carefully explained procedures as if he had all the time in the world. He adored his precious little family, always spoke so proudly of his wife and children and the time he spent with them.
I prayed for this wonderful man with a gentle spirit who has touched so many lives, including mine. I pray to comfort his wife and beautiful children that their loving memories of the time they shared will soften their pain.
Dr. King, a bright light, a brilliant man, a decent human being, your life ended much too soon. You are dearly missed by all who knew you. Rest in peace.
Was such a wonderful man, he helped me a lot threw my pregnancy gave me strength to get threw it while my husband was diagnosed with cancer when I was pregnant. It's so sad to see such a wonderful man go. I know this is late but I barley found out from another doctor when I was talking with her today. My prayers go out to his family and children he always talked highly of them. Very good man gone but never forgotten.
I am deeply saddened to hear about Dr King. He was my doctor throughout my pregnancy and delivered my first born. I have never met a doctor that cared soo much about his patients. I am speechless. My heart goes out to the King family, my prayers are with you. Dr King, may you rest in peace.
It is so sad when the good ones leave us too early. It's clear that he meant a lot to a lot of people. I was sometimes a difficult patient-I would cry during my colposcopy biopsies. He was always patient and very gentle. He delievered my 2nd child six years ago. I followed him to the Redlands facility too. It was worth the drive. I will never find another doctor as good as he was. I only hope to be half as good as he was when I become a PA. I wish him and his family peace.
I just saw him a week or two before his passing. He has been my doctor for way over 10 years even before he went transfer to redlands. I would drive the extra hour because he was one of those rare doctors that listen, gave good advice and was professional. Very rare. He cared for his patients. I remember our last talk He was telling me how he had his shoulder surgery (same doctor that was going to do mine at the time) and what he said made a big difference. He Motivated me to do it before it got worse. I trusted him and he made me feel at peace. He was an inspiration to me and always remembered me when he saw me walk in the clinic and would greet me by first name whike they did vitals. I was scheduled to have that surgery on my arm shoulder (rotator cuff) sept 9 and on sept 7 was my birthday. I tried to make an appointment with him recently for the problem i saw him in august. (Its Gotten worse) and now I am lost right now because he was a specialist and I don't know where to go that knew that much about my history and what worked in past and didn't. I been a kaiser member for 27 years. The doctor before him retired.
My heart goes deeply out to his family big time but I know he is in a good place and not forgotten.
Dr.king knew me when I was over 350lbs and lost way over 185lbs to help me with my problem. I Still was not able to conceive but always gave me hope. He was always motivating me. He was and will always be an inspiration to me and never will I guve up or forget him.
God watch over his family and I know they never met me but I will pray for all of them and I know he is going to be remembered because he made a difference to me and others and I feel blessed to have known him.
Madeleine, I just learned about the passing of Kelly and my heart is breaking for you. I was so honored to be a bridesmaid in your wedding, and witness the love you both had for each other. I have done a very poor job at staying in touch with old friends, and I sincerely apologize for that. One year ago, my 2nd husband passed away from brain cancer. I only mention that because I want you to know that it will get easier, and joy will return to your life. I hope you find comfort from the amazing family you have, and the many friend's who love you. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
He was a great Dr. He was my Dr. through my pregnancy. He was so dedicated and caring to his patients. Took the time to get to know me and my husband. I looked forward to my appointments because I knew he was so dedicated and thorough. He would talk to me about his wife and kids and to see the love he had for them and his job. I was so blessed by him. I am so torn to hear the news. My condolences to the family. I pray for his family and friends. Thank you so much for all you did Dr. King. He will be greatly missed!
In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
My heart is broken to hear this devastating news! It came as such a shock! Dr. King was the best doctor I've ever known. He took such an interest in his patients. From day one I was blessed to have him as my doctor! I had a few complications and he was always there to ease my mind. He delivered my baby 4 months ago via csection. And on my 6 week check up I was so sad I wasn't going to be seeing him as I had my baby, I joked with him that I wanted to schedule an appt with him soon so I wouldn't have to go long without seeing him. He was more than my doctor, he became a friend. I am praying for his family! I hope they're able to find peace. He talked about his family all the time! RIP Dr. King! You'll be missed!
He was my doctor through the first 8 months of my pregnancy. He was an incredible doctor and he made me feel incredibly at ease for this is my first pregnancy... Thank you Dr. king for helping me carry this baby through healthily. I wish you could've met my baby
I am so sadden by this tragedy! I've had a long bumpy road & Dr. King has been right there with me holding my hand every step of the way & never gave up on finding out what was going on with me. He was always trying to figure out a way to fix my issues and couldn't wait for the day I would call & tell him I was pregnant!!! Well that day didn't actually happen but I was anxious to share with him that we were adopting a child & that doesn't get to happen now either! He had an amazing bed side manner & beside the fact we shared a love for guns. He's an amazing doctor & will be missed dearly by all! My heart goes out to the King family! The doctor's to follow will have some pretty BIG shoes to fill. May all of you be blessed with the strength to get through this tragic event and carry his memories & legacy high in your hearts!
He was a wonderful doctor to work with... so down the earth.
After suffering a miscarriage I saw Dr King. He was so positive and gave me so much hope.
I'm in shock. How could this be. He was my doctor through my pregnancy. My baby is only 3 weeks old! ): He was in high demand because he was the absolute best ever!
I had him as one of my Dr's with one of my pregnancy's he was one of my favorite. He will be missed. Sending prayers to his family
May God help you through this trying time. I posted another message, but it didn't show. Dr.King was the best doctor I have ever had. He was kind, considerate, smart and funny. I loved him like a brother! We are both redheads!
I just received a phone call from his office telling me about this tragedy! I was about to schedule a hysterectomy. Dr. King was the best doctor I have ever had. I have known him for about ten years! He was kind, considerate, smart AND funny. My prayers go to his family. May God give you the strength you need!
I have only known Dr. King about ten years. He was the best doctor I have ever had! He was kind, considerate, smart and funny. I was on vacation, planning a medical procedure with him when I returned. My prayers are with his family! What a terrible tragedy!! Love, Kathy Showman
Our deepest condolences to the King and Barkhuizen families. Kelly was a wonderful man and we know that he will be deeply missed. May our Lord comfort you and give you peace.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phillipians 4:13
I can't believe that I'm never going to see your face again. No matter what the day was like, it was always better with you there. Kind, gentle, compassionate, genuine, easy-going, funny- You were loved by all. Awhile ago we were talking about little girls growing up. You told me you planned to buy your daughter something special. You said a daughter's first piece of real jewelry should come from her Daddy. I hope you had the chance to get it for her. Your family should know how much you talked about them, how much you loved them. I will keep them in my prayers. RIP my friend
My son was born healthy with the care and support of Dr. King and we are truly blessed to have had him in our lives. Sending love and support to his beautiful family.
Amy, Eric and Martin O'Neal
I am a long-time ObGyn RN who worked with Dr. Kelly King both in Labor and Delivery and in the ambulatory clinic. I have seen him in a variety of settings and always he was kind, gentle, soft-spoken, easy-going, forever the gentleman and competent doctor. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. His dignified memory will remain always. My sympathy goes out to his family. He was very well loved and respected and will be greatly missed.
I will truly miss Dr. King, he was a humble man, a man of God and he has displayed that at the work place.
An absolute extreme loss for all who had the opportunity of knowing such a kind, loving, warm, and giving human being. Your spirit will forever live in our hearts and Kaiser Permanente will never, ever, be the same without you... You set the standard for humanity, professionalism, and friendship, with your genuinely loving spirit... You are truly one in a million!!!
I am saddened and my heart breaks for the entire King family. May you always find him near by in your heart and in your memories. My prayers and deepest condolences for each of you! (From a LLA classmate)
I just found out. He was an exceptional man. My prayers goto his family he was my Dr. Of many pregnancies I would have never survived without him. I wish I could have been there to show my respect. But there aren't to many people that make impacts on our lives and he made a huge one in my family's. I have pictures of him and my babies. That will be cherished for his wonderful life and life he brought in mine. God bless

Thank you! Deepest condolences to his family and friends who will miss him most. The world is a better place because of you..and at present... a very sad place without you. Kelly as we knew him in college was an exceptional person and friend. My husband and he had many adventures at PUC . I was lucky enough to be invited on a few of them. Rest in peace our friend you will be missed and world is a little less bright tonite!! Val and Jeff Lear
I am so sorry for Kelly's loss. I remember him as a member of the cool pre-med posse, along with Bradley Herrick, Steven Zane and others. Of all of those fun-loving but studious guys, Kelly had the gentlest and kindest energy. I am sure he was a caring physician and I know he was a well-loved brother, son and father. God be with you, Kelly. Prayers and love to the King family.
Dr. King was my doctor during my pregnancy and was the doctor of many of my friends during their pregnancy. He brought many beautiful babies into this world. He was a very personable man and talked very highly of his family. My friends and I would exchange stories on how much we loved him as our doctor. You could even tell how much his nurses cared for him too. I'm going to really miss him. My next doctor will have some pretty big shoes to fill. Thank you for setting my mind at ease at every appointment Dr. King. May his family, friends and colleagues be comforted during this difficult time.
Unique in this world, you were a light dimmed too soon. At work, our rose among the thorns as well. Friendly, funny, fiercely loyal. Everything I wished I were and could never hope to be. You left us too soon, my friend. You are deeply missed and irreplaceable.
Dr King delivered bothy kids via c-section and just performedy hysterectomy two months ago. I just heard the news and I am in disbelief. He was such a gentle and warm person. I will always remember him. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
I went to Med School with Kelly- 2 yrs ahead and then was pleasantly surprised when I moved into the office next to him at the Redland's office in 2008. I was impressed that instead of putting his name tag on the front of his door he put a picture of this beautiful little girl with big blue eyes his daughter Katelyn! So I copied him and put my daughter's picture up!
Anyhow, he was a very kind, polite man whom his patient's raved about. RIP Kelly and God be with your family. Adrianne Beck MD
Dr King you will be missed and your family will be in my prayers.

My prayers go out to Dr. King's family. I had the pleasure of working side by side with him in Labor and Delivery for the past 7 years. The unit has suffered a huge loss. He saw me through two pregnancies and I will forever be grateful for him helping bring in two of my babies into this world. You will be missed by many.

We pray for comfort and understanding for the family that you left behind, that somehow , someway you find solice in the knowledge that he was loved.
Kelly just knew what it was to be human.
Nothing but love. Nothing but a friend to all.

Shocked to hear about Kelly's death. Really appreciated him as my Dr. Great Dr and Person. Prayers to all the family.
I have many, many happy memories of carefree, youthful times spent with Kelly, and will always remember him with a wry smile. Even after all these years I can clearly picture him tearing around Loma Linda in his brown and white Ford Bronco, usually with a "posse" of joyful passengers in tow and Del Taco wrappers blowing out the windows. Travel well, my friend.
Dr. King was the definition of a doctor. Kind, compassionate, understanding, and brilliant. He had a special way of lightening up the room and spent a great deal of time ensuring his patients were happy, healthy, and well taken care of. The world has lost not only an amazing doctor but truly an amazing man. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
