My mother Tillie Absolon Vavrina met Verna at 1st Federal S & L when I was but a tiny boy. Many years later, in 1956 and when I had just been discharged fron the Marine Corp, Verna and my father Joseph Vavrina had formed an alliance from which I hoped each would gain happiness and love for the next pathway of their lives. Their were some bumps in their road but I must believe that their companionship yielded caring and the sharing of themselves on a loving plane understood best to Verna and Joe.

When son Troy and his mother Carolyn, who both live in Loveland, CO and Troy's sister Dorna, who resides in Nashvillel, TN and I used to visit my father and step-mother Verna in San Bernardino,Verna was always the most loving, caring and sweetest lady to all of us. The children loved her and even in the last few years, she always asked about Troy and Dorna. It was always a pleasure to see her and I believe I speak for all four of us.

My memory of Verna will always be this: I used to refer to my biological mother as the greatest woman in the world (Carolyn? Yes, but a different pathway); Verna, was the 2nd and that is the place in my heart where she will always be.

Rest in peace, Dear Lady.
