Victoria L. Miller

Victoria L. Miller of Balboa Island CA, 86, passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2012 at Victoria Healthcare Center in Costa Mesa, CA. Victoria was the heart and soul of her family. Her love and laughter will be dearly missed.

Victoria Miller was born in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1943. While there, Victoria was a member of the prominent group "Glamourettes." These ladies became some of her life long friends.She later studied art at UCLA. During World War II Victoria worked as a civilian draftsman for the U.S. Navy. A patron of the arts and an artist herself, Victoria studied watercolor painting throughout most of her adult life including many years studying with Southern California artist Rex Brandt. She was an avid reader and loved the printed word. As a charter member of the Assistance League of East San Gabriel Valley, Victoria supported her community through serving in their thrift store and decorating trees for the Christmas Tree Brunch fundraiser.

Victoria married Dr. John Miller in 1958. They lived in Covina and later West Covina for twenty-seven years. Throughout their marriage Victoria and John enjoyed many interests including music, art, and traveling the world. Upon retiring, they moved to Balboa Island, CA where they resided for the last seventeen years.

Victoria Miller was predeceased by her husband John and is survived by her three daughters: Debbie Zehnder (Steve), Sally Miller (Ric), and Paula Miller. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Nate Miller (Cathy), Andrew Miller (Nikki), Mikaela Favill (Rich), Matt Zehnder; and one great granddaughter, Nora Miller.

Victoria Miller was laid to rest in a private ceremony at Oakdale Cemetery in Glendora, CA.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the covinavalley.assistanceleague.org or the Alzheimer's Association.
