Always known as Bill to me and as a child as Billy he was my oldest brother. My memories from childhood are limited since Bill was almost 9 years older than me so we never were in the same time frame of life in the early years. By the time I was 9 he was off to U of Oregon and then on to the Navy. By the time he came home I was off to San Diego State. I would have to say for many years we were as strangers until 2009 when Bill came to live with me for 3 years. I am grateful for that time together because now I can say I knew my brother well. He was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. We enjoyed watching sports and old movies together. He was gentle and kind, a man of few words but profoundly intelligent. He was a loyal U of O Duck fan and I am glad he got to see them go to the BICS championship game in 2011. I am deeply saddened by his passing and will miss him forever. Rest in peace my dear brother and I will think of you fondly each time I watch the Oregon Ducks play or hear a duck quack.
