Dear Harriet, John and family. I'm very sorry to hear of Karl's passing. I have very fond memories of your family and will forever be indebted for the opportunity you gave me to work on your farm in 1987.
I arrived in Two Rivers from New Zealand as a 20 year old wandering the USA. I met some lovely people in your area. Dan & Collette Tegen in Two Rivers took me into their family, and their neighbour Sandy Bernhagen from the Co-op in Mishicot took me to meet Karl at the farm. Karl kindly took me on, even though I'm from the other side of the planet from Denmark! I remember the huge and delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners you cooked for us all Harriet, and the friendliness of your family.
Karl was a big man with a big heart. His mischievous looks and sense of humour made me smile. I think of his mannerisms often whilst I work. You are forever in my memories, and the stories live on.
Thankyou again, and my sincere condolences.
Barry Robinson. Drury, New Zealand
