I was so sad to hear about Ms. Lukin's passing. The first cookbook I bought when I got married (23 years) was the Silver Palate. The women of the 60's & 70's had Julia Child, but we women of the 80's & 90's' had Sheila Lukins. She will be missed. God bless.

I am so shocked and sorry to hear of Ms. Lukin's passing. What a terrible loss. Her Silver Palate cookbook inspired me to get serious about cooking. The 60's and 70's had Julia Child for inspiration, we women of the 80's and 90's had Ms. Lukin. God bless.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.
For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.John 3:16

Just seeing Ms. Lukins face brought back GLORIOUS memories of pouring over The Silver Palate cookbooks. I planned many gatherings around them and have the fondest memories as a result. I'm terribly sorry for the family's loss and extend my most sincere condolences. I'll bet she's cooking up a storm in heaven! My dad who has passed always liked great food and I'll bet he's sitting at her table! God speed, Sheila. You and your gifts will be missed.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Sheila Lukins. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Chicago several years ago and she graciously signed my Silver Palate cookbooks. I remember making the Greek fondue. Even though I am Greek it seemed so exotic. Her raspberry chicken was another great dish as are hundreds of others. She will be missed.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy. I did not know Ms. Lukins I do know the pain of losing a dear family member. I draw comfort from the Bible where it tells us that "Our Heavenly Father will actually swallow up death forever, and will certainly wipe the tears from all faces". I hope the family find comfort from this text.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
